Chad is out for 2-4 weeks.  Quincy Carter gets the start in his absence.

How good can Carter be?

I am surprised... Pennington's hit didn't look that bad.

Anyway, I think Q will step it up and be decent.  The Jets will rely on Curtis even more.  Let's face it, as any Santana Moss owner knows, the Jets were not throwing the ball deep this year... at least they were not completing it deep.  Carter hit Moss on a nice TD against Buffalo (I know the DB fell down), but maybe Moss can break out of his slump.

I look for the Jets to come back strong next week.

I completely agree that Pennington did not look like he got hit badly.  Maybe he aggravated the shoulder on that play and really hurt it earlier.

Anyway, Carter should be decent, but not great.  If you need a fill-in, I would go with Quincy.  Unless Griese or Rattay is still available in your league.

well i think if the jets can go 2-2 without pennington they still have a chance to make the playoffs....but enxt week at ravens....hard to start any jet offensive player....

Pennington to Start During Week 13

J.P. Pelzman, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets head coach Herman Edwards said QB Chad Pennington (shoulder) will start during Week 13. He was upgraded from questionable to probable for the game. Edwards added that he knows Pennington will not be perfect after missing three weeks of action due to the strained right rotator cuff. Pennington, in a statement released by the team, said his shoulder is no longer a concern.
