First off and foremost, rider (gotta love the way we already got the perfect smiley already in place for ya, bro), I'd like to extend a hearty to ya on "the Gridiron"! Based on your prelude there, I am guessing that we may have crossed paths "somewhere" in the past. I hope you decide to make "the Gridiron" a regular part of your FF diet. I look forward to getting (re)acquainted with you and come to know you better perhaps over time. Send me an instant message here and let me know who you are (if you want). On to your query,... With Moss out, I think we are learning who really is the key in Minny (read, not Culpepper, though he is a big part, granted). So, while Moss is out, you really have to scrutinize over the matchups Minny has. Culpepper up in the cold winds of Green Bay without Moss, I don't like it. Griese up against a bereft secondary (indoors) in Atlanta looks pretty yummy. There is NO WAY any sane fantasy footballer should even be contemplating Quincy Carter over Culpepper, though, no less a Quincy Carter making his first start of the season for a new team AGAINST BALTIMORE,... read 5 interceptions and 4 lost fumbles. Really, a stat line like 10 for 30 for 75 yards, 0 touchdowns and 4 picks and 2 lost fumbles is very within the realm of possibility. Back to Culpepper, though, up in Green Bay without Moss and WITH ALL THOSE RUNNING BACKS back there needing touches, 225 yards and 2 touchdowns are THE MOST you can expect out of him this week and 200 and 1 is very likely.

In a scoring only league. Would you bench c-pepp for Dave Carr?

my moniker's bias aside..... WHAT!? First off, I don't see the Greise @ ATL matchup as "yummy". TB has a pretty marginal offensive line in pass protection, allowing 20 sacks already this year. ATL has 20 sacks this year. I expect Greise to be under a significant amount of pressure this week, and with ATL having a stout run D (minus the KC game), don't expect Pittman to alleviate that pressure much. Greise may get 2-3 TDs, but expect some sacks and maybe a pick or 2 as well. With that analysis, there's no way I can bench CPepp for that. CPepp is going to get 2 TDs in this one. Grady Jackson back in the middle makes the Pack significantly harder to run on. OSmith is up to that challenge to the tune of 85 rushing, but CPepp is going to need to do some passing in the RZ. I agree with Steg that CPepp may only get 200-225 passing, but I see at least 2 TDs. To me, the only way you bench the #2 QB in the league, is if you have an unquestionably better matchup, and you don't. Stick with CPepp. GOOD LUCK!

I gotta tell ya, I've gotta side with BW and CP on this one. Yes, Moss is out. But you have Robinson, Campbell, and Burleson wor are very capable receivers. You also have targets out of the backfield with Williams, Smith, and Bennett and an above average TE in Wiggins. If Culpepper is on my roster, barring having a Manning or McNabb on your roster or a nagging injury to Culpepper, I ALWAYS start Culpepper. Just my opinion though!

Good deal, man! Savy move on playing Bulger over him. I would have definitely done that! ... | I DIGRESS...
Hey, at least I put my money where my mouth is,... or maybe it's the other way around... In the GBRFL this week, I traded for AND started Griese... Given that we start 2 QB's, he was a decent start: high percentage of completions, 2 TD's, only 1 pick,... not a bad off-week complement to Delhomme at all. I'm a satisfied customer. |

C-Pepp's 4 TD passes worked for me. Who knew that Indy would drag a defence out of the closet for that game. I fortunatley left David Carr comfortably on the bench.
