Great move for both sides. LaMont looked great at times last year and could be huge for the Raiders (even though they will being passing a lot!!) I don't know the salary cap situation, but they will probably be forced to make some major cuts at other positions.

| They've already let Buchanon go. The 30th ranked D is going to struggle to move up even 1 spot next season. But Oakland will do what Minny has done for 7 years....sell out and be exciting to watch offensively.

Raiders trade Buchanon to Texans for draft picks. "An NFL source with knowledge of the deal, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Oakland would receive a second-round and third-round pick in this weekend's NFL draft." http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/04/20/sports/s001638D0 0.DTL http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=knight-raidersdealbuchanontotexa&a mp;prov=knight&type=lgns "The Raiders also are looking to deal four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Charles Woodson, who signed a $10.5 million tender in February as Oakland's franchise player." "Oakland now has nine draft picks in the two-day, seven-round process. The Raiders are without a first-rounder, but they have two each in the second and third rounds, one in the fourth and four in the sixth. The Buchanon trade gives them the 47th pick overall."

Raiders send Jolley to Jets for first round draft pick!!!!! http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-jets-raiderstrade&prov=ap&a mp;type=lgns KFFL Breaking News Raiders Acquire First-round Pick; Jets Receive Jolley "ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Oakland Raiders have traded TE Doug Jolley to the New York Jets for the Jets' first-round draft choice, No. 26 overall. It is also believed the Raiders, in addition to Jolley, sent a second-round draft choice to the Jets." Guess Al ain't dead yet! "Jolley, a fourth-year tight end out of Brigham Young University, goes to New York along with a second-round pick in exchange for the Jets' 26th overall pick, one Raiders source and one NFL source said, both speaking on condition of anonymity. The swap would be contingent on Jolley passing a physical." http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/NYJ/8404238 OK... (Sorry about the multiple posts for modify)
