I was watching ESPN and heard Edge will get the franchise tag, but still may be traded. I'll post a link when I find one.

Here's an interesting read for the Colts fans...

http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=196&p=2&c=372023

Another name you can add to that list is Rutgers DT J'Vonne Parker (might not be a draft pick, but could be a PFA).  He's 6'5" and 320 and moves very well.  He's a project with limited experience, but I saw the Colts scout at the Rutgers Pro Day paying him a lot of attention.

Sounds like a standard Rosenhaus ploy.  I wouldn't worry.

Little nugget especially for our IDPers out there on "the Gridiron"...  From "The REAL Feed":

Colts re-sign starting LB Morris (AP)
Yahoo! News: Democratic Party (14.06.2005 15:23)
The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed free agent Rob Morris, their starting middle linebacker the past four seasons. Morris, Colts' first-round draft pick in 2000, became an unrestricted free agent after this past season and signed on Tuesday. Morris, who played primarily on running downs, was t...

I'm not thinking anybody is eyeing the Colts defense as a unit for fantasy football purposes in '05, but perhaps this may have meaning for IDPers.  From "The REAL Feed":

Colts' Doss gets two-game suspension (AP)
Yahoo! News: Democratic Party (15.06.2005 12:27)
Indianapolis Colts safety Mike Doss was suspended Wednesday by the NFL for the first two regular-season games after pleading no contest to misdemeanor gun charges. Doss was sentenced to community service last week after pleading no contest to misdemeanor gun charges in Akron, Ohio, where he was ...

Quote:
"We'd like to get a multiyear deal, but if that doesn't happen, Edgerrin is prepared to take a negative and turn it into a positive,'' Rosenhaus said. "He'll have a great year and, hopefully, the team will have a great season. Hopefully, the (salary) cap will be significantly higher next year and the running back market will be significantly better than this year.''

Compared to what Rosenhaus is doing with some of his other clients, this is very encouraging. It sounds to me like James will be in camp and motivated. For some reason I see him as the type of player that explodes during the final year of his contract.

I find it interesting how all of the teams are taking the hard line in their negotiations with Rosenhaus clients.  It's almost like they've received marching orders not to cave in to Rosenhaus' demands from a higher authority, (i.e., the League offices).

Good news on the "Edge Front"...  From "The REAL Feed":

Edgerrin James arrives at Colts camp
News Sentinel: Sports - Football (28.07.2005 03:17)
Another training camp, more suspense from Edgerrin James. Months of speculation about whether the two-time NFL rushing champ would report on time Wednesday ended shortly after the Indianapolis Colts held their first meeting and officials announced he had arrived.

Stokley is listed as questionable for week 1 vs. the Ravens.

Is there anything wrong with Dallas Clark?  I noticed that he didn't do much this preseason but is not on the week 1 injury report. Anyone with info???

Dallas practiced yesterday(Wednesday 7th). He is still questionable. When you shake his head you can hear the nuts and bolts rattling around. He is suffering from a concussion he recieved 2 weeks ago as a gift from the Bears Brian Urlacher.  Brian shopped at "Hard Heads Are Us" and dropped 5000 dollars for the deed.
http://www.kffl.com/article.php/37640/115
The word out of Indy is that Dallas will be a game time decision. At this point Hartsock is splitting the reps. This will have a huge impact on the Fantasy value of seveal Colt players. Stay tuned!

Im sorry to report that the usually reliable KFFL was wrong in reporting that Dallas Clark was practicing. The Indy Star says Dallas has not practiced but is seeking medical clearance to play. Stay Tuned!

Let's add a post like this to your "unofficial" Colts Report thread (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=55;a ction=display;num=1126409492), sk!  Or, go ahead and start a "Colts In-season Report" thread!  ...  This is perhaps what we should do with other teams.  But, whatever,... I am willing to let this evolve until we have something "choate" (my own word derived from "inchoate"; I don't think any of the synonyms for the opposite of "inchoate" express this particular idea in this kind of situation better than my word "choate") and able to be standardized.

The bottom line is that these "2005 Offseason Reports" threads need to drop.  They are now, by definition, obsolete.
