Interesting "coach-ese" from Turner re: Jordan

This from USA Today:

"...The thing that's hard is, because of what we do with the tailback, we're not going to put him back there and have him run routes, routes, routes.  Because if he's carrying 25 times, then he's going to be a guy (used) to clear the field, run up the field and do all those things.  And that takes a toll on you."

So is he saying LJ will be running routes (clear the field, run up the field, do all those things, or  won't be doing that so as not to put too much of a "toll" on him?

This seems to be classic coach-speak out of both sides of his mouth, whether intentional or not.

My take, they've got Moss, Porter, Gabriel, Jolley... There's not much room for LJ to be racking up receptions.  I'd forecast < 45 all year.

Callie, your thoughts?

Yet in that 1st quarter tonight, Collins dumps the ball off to him 4-5 times.

I saw that Kerry had alot of time to throw vs. the Niners, yet the receivers were all covered down field, which means Jordan will be his 4th-5th option and will get his share. That is just my opinion.

Jordan is an RB with the ability to catch the ball (did you hear about his left handed grab in the preseason opener?) .  Four carries for 23 yards, and then they sat him to save him.  All you saw in the preseason opener was what you were given - even the Raider training camp is famously CLOSED.  AFC West stuff.

Remember that Turner loves stud RB's.  And keep in mind that the Raiders played their scrubs most of the first preseason game because they knew what they wanted to see.  The 9ers were working on an even number of carries for Smith and Rattay, so they kept their first team in longer than expected (too many 3 & outs early).  The Raider O line has more experience this season.  I know that the Raiders are a pass first team, but you know what  E. James has done as a Colt, and he is not a good receiving RB.
