Sticky situation

I am in a 10 team league. we start 2 QB 2 RB and 3WR, 1 TE, etcc . our point system is evenly set up where QB, RB, and WR are all equally important. I draft 7. The draft is on monday... This little owens saga is really making my draft a difficult one because owens and mcnabb would have been gone by 7. Heres who i think will be drafted by my pick. 1 Manning 2. LT 3.Culpepper 4. Moss 5. Alexander 6. Holmes 7. my pick I was orginally really happy with 7 cause i was going to get somebody good regardless of who went in the top 7, and then pick up someone solid in the 2nd round. What do u think the best pick for me at 7 would be? Owens??, Mcnabb??, James(not high on him this year though)??? or who else?? Before the saga i was thinking i would either end up with holmes or owens and hoping to get like deuce or portis in the 2nd round. Vick is also an option at 7 cause he scores pretty well in our league and if he has a good season could be the top scorer in our league What should i do??

I can't see either Deuce or Portis lasting until the second round anywhere. Culpepper should last until your second round pick, unless you know something about your league's habits that we don't. Moss could still be there at 7, and so could Holmes. Edit, sorry. I didn't answer your whole question. I would bet that James will be gone before 7 anyway. McNabb should be there until at least your second round and probably your third. At this point, people will be afraid of McNabb and Owens. I like T.O., but I wouldn't draft either Owens or McNabb on Monday unless there is news or the value is great.

I think I read that James hasn't had any receiving TDs for the last couple of seasons, meaning if Rhodes is used on 3rd downs and goal line work, James' main fantasy value will be rushing yards. James' up side is that he stands to lose a lot of money if he doesn't have a great season, since the franchise tag makes this just like a contract year for James. Also, the Colts have been working on improving their D, which might take some of the load off the O. Probably not much, though. All that said, I would be surprised if Rhodes gets all that much work. James should still end up as a top 5 RB in 2005.

You can do a lot worse than James and Portis at RB with Brooks at QB and A. Johnson at WR. That is a very solid foundation. It looks like things started out well.

| 2 starting QB's (that's what we do in the GBRFL, so I know the deal) or not, that's absurd... and I LOVE Plummer, mind you.
