WR help for tonight??
« on: Sep 8th, 2005, 2:39pm »

Hello..

I am in a performance league with 1 pt per 10 recieving and rushing and 1pt per 20 passing (6pts per td).

Tonight I have Brady in and would like to put Dione Branch in for the nice double.  But, I do also have Rod Smith vs Miami to think about too.  This is the only glitch in my line up....

QB (start 2)
Brady vs Oakland
Brooks vs Carolina

WR  (3)
Branch vs Oak
Harrison vs Baltimore
Moulds vs Houston

(can still use) Rod Smith vs Miami

RB
Edgerin James vs Baltimore
Jamal Lewis vs Indy

(can still use) Michael Bennett vs Tampa Bay

Any thoughts???

Branch in a probable shoot out against the Raiders.  Harrison, of course.

Moulds was Bledsoe's favorite, but Lee Evans is the deep WR and Losman seems to like to go to him.  But I'd still play him over R. Smith, who should get the coverage big time this week and leave Lelie more open for the fantasy points.

I'd play Edge and Jamal over Bennett, like you did.

I don't know who is on your bench, but everything else looks good from here.

I would not play Rod Smith this week (and this is coming from a BIG Broncos fan).  Go with the lineup you posted above.  Only make the (late) switch if you hear before tonight's game that Branch is not playing.  And, definitely leave in Edge and Jamal.  Good luck!

Is there any reason to think that Deion Branch won't play (other than the old "abducted by aliens during pre-game warm-ups" situation)?

I think it will be a shoot out.

My only problem with Branch is:
Why is he the only patriot that is so important to that team to play 0 minutes in preseason. He Did not practice for the first 2 weeks. He  practiced sparingly in the third week. He practiced all week during the last week of camp but did not play. Is Brady not that important? Is Dillon not that important? Belly-Check still says theres nothing wrong?" Branch is fine, We just cant risk injury."
I have to see it to believe it!

My take is that Givens is hurt and that this should be a shoot out.  How much game time did we see from Moss in preseason?  Protection and hiding the plan.
