- This hurts fantasy footballers who might have the Saints D/ST or who is able to play individual special teamers/return men because this guy was surely on a roster in that, albeit unusual, case... From "The REAL Feed": Saints lose return specialist for season The Sports Network: NFL (22.09.2005 14:49) The really sad thing is that that may be the last we hear from the 33-year-old Lewis, who has dazzled us with some fantastic returns in his day. We'll see,... but this DOUBLE-tear is a rough injury. It's not as bad as an ACL-MCL double-tear, mind you. But, this is pretty bad.

He remains questionable but insisted he will "definitely" play. "One hundred and 55 percent, definitely," Horn said. "Unless something ungodly happens." Horn had been promising he would play the past two weeks, however, and he even qualified his promise Wednesday by saying later, "In my heart, I'm 150 percent ready to play." |

And, another one bites the dust... From "The REAL Feed": Saints dismiss Haslett The Globe And Mail: Sports (02.01.2006 14:51) Another head coach loses his job a day after the end of the NFL regular season I am going to refrain from commenting on this too much as, for this team, there are extenuating circumstances involved that should have been and I hope were factored in, which severely cloud my judgment and feelings, leading me to think the opposite of what I think the right decision to in fact be.

| Didn't you comment by 'reportedly' not commenting? Ultimately, the Saints did Haslett a favor by letting him go. He had one year left on his contract. Haslett basically asked for an extension or to be let go. The owner let him go. Haslett would have been a lame duck coach at New Orleans for his last year. Ultimately, Haslett is in great shape. He is all but guaranteed another head coaching job. He is a leading candidate for the Texans job. He will also be a good candidate IF the Jets job opens up IF Herm goes to KC. Of all the coaches getting fired, he and is the most likely to get another HC job. Tice and Norv and Sherman will most likely have to go back to being coordinators somewhere to 'prove' themselves again. Mooch is the other one that may land somewhere.(Green Bay)
