Possible Trade Offer

Which is a fairer trade?  Is either one fair?

Marvin Harrison, Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson
for
Edgerrin James and Muhsin Muhammad

or

Marvin Harrison and Mewlede Moore
for
Edgerrin James

The guy who has James also has Barber and Bettis while he is somewhat thin at receiver.  Here is his roster.

Vick, Michael QB ATL
Bettis, Jerome RB PIT
James, Edgerrin RB IND
Givens, David WR NE
Muhammad, Muhsin WR CHI
McMichael, Randy TE MIA
Vinatieri, Adam K NE
Colts, DST DST IND
Losman, J.P. QB BUF
Barber, Tiki RB NYG
Suggs, Lee RB CLE
Moulds, Eric WR BUF
Kinney, Erron TE TEN
Ravens, DST DST BAL

My roster is in my signature.  Do you have any other recommendations if the two above are silly?

I personally probably wouldn't bother with either of these trades. I think Mewelde Moore is a good candidate for solid points the rest of the year (I stole him from someone in my league last week). Chicago's situation could get ugly in the coming weeks. Even though giving up marvin and T Jones + benson seems a bit much for Edge (can you get mcmichael?), it could work out for you as edge will be the most consistent at least. This is the route I would take if you want to go ahead with this trade.

One other thing you have to look at is come the last few weeks of the year (Fantasy playoffs) you might need M. Moore or a Chicago RB when all those colts are riding the bench with homefield advantage.

I don't know...  I evidently live in a different "fantasy reality" than tm20.  If I were the other guy here, I would NOT do this.  If I give up Edge, a legit blue-chipper, I need a blue-chipper back.  Marvin no longer qualifies as such; in fact, I almost like Muhsin as much as him, and the pair of Bears represent one in two.

This one's even worse.  tm20 has more faith in Moore than I have.  I think the Vikes are in for a loooong year where they are playing catch-up and abandoning their running game way more often than not.  Moore has been prone to injury.  There are other backs, as good as or perhaps better than Moore, in the mix.  And, how proven really is this guy?  I'm not sold on his 4.2 average.  And, bottom line he's got 187 yards and 0 touchdowns rushing on the season...

If you can pull off either of these rip-offs, DO IT!!!  Again, if it were me, I'd probably be a bit insulted.  But, if this guy is a stiff, loosen him up and bend him over... Good luck!

Steg, I thought that these offers were too one sided.  It turns out that it is a non-issue.  The guy who has James said that he has no interest in trading him for anyone.  That nipped things in the bud pretty quickly.  Thanks for the feedback, fellas.  It is good to get a gauge of what others think.

yea man, steg is probably right. I'm prolly being a bit on the conservative side and like to overprepare for injuries, and even the playoff weeks once I know my team will most likely be competing. I should note though, that my league gives 0.5 per reception which helps add up the points quickly and usually makes my WRS have pretty good weeks no matter what. My advice definitely comes from this perspective for future reference
