I think the Colts are trying to position themselves to Resign Edge, Jim Irsays favorite player on the team. They are known to hang out together quite a bit in the offseason.

From the Indy Star

Manning and Harrison rework their contracts to allow the Colts to get under the cap

With James now going to Arizona, where do the Colts turn for a RB?  I doubt they will stick with Rhodes/Mungro combo.

Jamal Lewis?  Maurice Maurice?  Michael Bennett?  Najeh Davenport?

It is going to be interesting!!!

Sirius Radio is reporting, citing ESPN as the source, that Adam Vinatieri has reached an agreement with the Colts.

This is huge news and should fuel an already heated rivalry.

Just to get a link for that, Chumpman,... from one of the many great sources uniquely grouped and fueling "The REAL Feed":

Colts Sign a "Clutch" Kicker
Pro Football Critics (22.03.2006 23:15)
After this past season, the Colts may have realized they only needed one more thing: a clutch kicker. The Colts signed one of the best clutch kickers in NFL history in Adam Vinatieri. Vinatieri was not offered the franchise tag again by the New England Patriots, because it would have cost them $...

The Colts still haven't given up on the kid,... maintaining depth at linebacker.  From "The REAL Feed":

Colts re-sign LB Morris
FOXSports.com :: NFL (14.04.2006 14:33)
The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed veteran linebacker Rob Morris.

Morris has started 60 games since the Colts selected him in the first round of the 2000 NFL draft but spent last season backing up Gary Brackett. In six seasons, all with the Colts, Morris has recorded 483 tackles, seven sac...

Colts pursue Bears Thomas Jones?

Although Dungy would not specifically address the Colts' level of interest in Jones, he conceded the team "investigates it all. But right now I'd say it's still in the rumor stage.''

Talk about anal... (like someone we all know... (and love... ) )  From "The REAL Feed":

Manning halfway done: Peyton wants eight more years

Eight years into his career and, according to the Peyton Manning personal vocational blueprint, the Indianapolis Colts' star quarterback has reached the halfway point of his NFL tenure.

Jim, Jeff, others who I've said this to,... something about great minds thinking in specific terms of "eight" years down the road... ...

Colts sign Shaun King, reuniting QB, Dungy

It's uncertain if King's acquisition is an indication Sorgi still is having trouble with a sore right arm that forced him to miss the recent mandatory minicamp.
Matt Brei, Sorgi's agent, said Thursday that Sorgi had not yet resumed throwing.

Jim Sorgi, QB

Soreness in the backup quarterback's right arm limited his throwing during the offseason. He has resumed throwing, but will the soreness return under an increased workload at camp? If so, the focus behind Manning might shift to Shaun King. The former Tampa Bay QB remains a Tony Dungy favorite. If healthy, Sorgi should remain the solid No. 2. He has a firm grasp of coordinator Tom Moore's offense and has played well when called upon. In nine career appearances, Sorgi has compiled a 99.3 rating by completing 65.6 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and one interception.

Word out of Indy is that Sorgi does in fact still have soreness. Right out of the gate.

How do you get a sore arm backing up a guy who never misses a snap? Watch out for a quick depth chart switch-a roo with Shaun King.
