Top Ten Fantasy QBs for 2006

Quote Quote Modify Modify

Every year I post my top ten lists and it always generates lots of fun discussion and plenty of other top ten lists.  Have at it!

1. Peyton Manning
You think he'll throw less with Edge gone?
2. Tom Brady
He's always underrated.
3. Jake Delhomme
Some great targets and solid pass-blockers.
4. Drew Bledsoe
Yes, Terrell can make that big a difference.
5. Matt Hasselbeck
Don't let the loss of Hutchinson fool you, he'll still be very effective.
6. Donovan McNabb
He's back healthy and he'll run the ball more this year.
7. Carson Palmer
He'd be higher if he didn't have the run-in with Kimo last winter.
8. Daunte Culpepper
Surprise, surprise... look for plenty of deep throws to Chambers.
9. Eli Manning
He's got targets at RB, WR, and TE!
10. Jake Plummer
As long as the playoff Jake doesn't show up during the regular season, he'll be effective.

Good Job Jeff! I would tend to agree for the most part. I'm not sure about Jake in the 3rd slot, the weapons are definately there, having a first down possesion reciever like MeShawn will help keep drives alive.

1 - 5... are about right.
6... no way.
7... nice drop of Palmer based on injury risk.
8... NO WAY.
9-10... fine.

Overall, nice...  Understand that with my new ventures (to try to make the magazine happen next year), I pretty much have to leave it at that.

"NO WAY" as he's ranked to high????  I am alright w/8th for him here.  NO WAY to means what??? 11th, 12th, 22nd 24th????

Have you been keeping up w/Culpepper this pre-season, he looks damn good if haven't caught anything on him, yeah....he had a BAD season last year, ALOT of factors played into that, 2 years ago he was a top 3 QB.  Now it's NO WAY (for an 8th???) But yet you are fine w/Palmer at 7th???

I don't get it???

Philly I'm with you on this one, 8th is fine w/me, he is absolutely no worse than say 12th, to me NO WAY means he's at least ranked 10-12 spots higher than he should be, that would put him in the ranks of Brooks, Carr, Roethlisberger Leftwich, Brunnell, hell even B. Johnson.!!!

Just throwing this out here.  I would take Culpepper over ANY of those listed.

He has...  By "looks damn good", you mean "healthy", right?  Oooooo...  Ahhhhhh...  You mean "in practice", right?  Ohhhhhh...  Good luck with that...

NEWS FLASH STEG!!!!  You are not the only one who might know a little something.

Yeah, you keep on holding on to your Ron Dayne hopes as well, I know your in love w/him, (Good luck with that!)I usually fair pretty well myself, as I as well know my talent even at RB's & QB's and I fair pretty well, and yeah even win some leagues.  If Culpepper is looking DAMN GOOD, (yes that means healthy if you didn't catch on) Isn't that what the whole pre-season is??  So, if you want to pass on Culpepper, that's fine, knock him down as far as you want to on your list, you'll be proved wrong, but then again, that's only IMO.

Hey I will, I don't know about you, but I almost always see Stars & $$$$$$ when it comes to fantasy football.

I know you know Philly, maybe even personally, but my perspective here is, you don't need to come off like GOD because of HIS rankings, but then again, I'm the newby here, maybe I just don't know the lingo here yet.

I wouldn't rank Culpepper in the top 12 either.  Most of the leagues i've been in subtract points for turnovers meaning that even when Culpepper is at his BEST he loses 1/3 of his Fantasy points due to INTs and Fumble/Fumbles lost!!

If you look at this stat line I can easily see him in a lower tier of QBs.

Maybe i'm just bitter from taking him in round 1 last year though!!!!

We disagree...  I don't know what to say...  As far as how I "come off", this is how I've "come off" for four years now, toiling to make something of this site and, hopefully, make for wonderful jobs in a fun FantasyFootballer.com office and network for people some day...

Takster,... I saw it comin' with Culpepper last year, but didn't have the balls to rank him as low as I would have liked (that said, I'm sure nobody would have had the sack to rank him outside the Top 10; I would have been no different)...

It's interesting to look back and see how it all faired...  So-so!  BUT, IT SURE WAS FUN!!!

I guess I could have gone with the safe rankings... but as we all know, the pre-season consensus top 10 is NEVER the same at the end.

I won't argue with these rankings...(much) they are all top ten type guys... I think Hasselback is a 3.  I get real concerned about guys with injuries last season, i.e. Palmer, McNabb, and Culfart...I mean Culpepper...this guy has screwed me with his interceptions and fumbles to many times to mention.  Sirious interviews have been real positive about the aforementioned injured QBs and their progress this pre-season.  I'm still a bit leary.

No way I leave Bluger out of the top 10 and no way I have Plummber in top ten...Plummber will be throwing more this season and I could be wrong about him.
