Trade Help
« on: Aug 22nd, 2006, 2:47pm »

I have a redraft league.

My team is currently

Javon Walker
Matt Jones
Chester Taylor
Corey Dillon
Antonio Gates
Phillip Rivers
Hank Baskett
Kevan Barlow
Donte Stallworth
T. J. Duckett
Laurence Maroney
Deuce McAllister
Mike Vick

My question is should I trade Kevan Barlow for Drew Bennett? DOnt you think I need the help at WR or should I just keep Barlow and go with what I have?

What is the scoring? Do you get points for receptions?  How many RBs and WRs do you start each week?  Is there a flex starter?

Just looking at things, I don't think it matters one way or the other - this team is in trouble. Of all your RBs, the only one that we know is his team's go-to starter is Chester Taylor. Dillon and Maroney will probably split time, Deuce will lose carries to Bush, Atlanta is trying desperately to trade Duckett, and who knows how Barlow will be used by the Jets.

And you're not much better at WR. You don't have the sure-fire #1 guy for any team. How exactly did you draft this team? You don't even have a stud at QB.

Really need to know how many you start to answer this.  You're getting hit hard with byes on week 6.   If you start 3 RBs, you'd have no one to start w/o Barlow.  If you start 2 RBs and a flex, you could get by with TJ & Deuce (not good!).

Either way, Philly is right.  This team is in trouble.

And I'd love to get Philly's answer too....how did you get this team?   What was your #1 pick, Koren Robinson?

It's a crap shoot, but I'd make the trade.  Barlow has been a perenial under achiever and Bennet, when healthy, verges on extremely good.  Make the trade.

I think Taylor will be a stud for you and Dillion should continue to get decent yards and punch in TD's...he had 12 TD's last year.  With the possibility that Branch gets traded next week Dillions #'s could increase this year.  You got the handcuff with Maroney and that was good thinking.

You got to pray Rivers does better than people think...that may be your weakest link.

You asked for advice on this thread, not a crusifiction...good luck with your league!
