I tend to think this has very little fantasy impact, but buzz in some of the media in Minneapolis is a bit more excited. The Vikings were really expecting Koro and Troy Droppingson to stretch the field, giving them tons of room to run. If they go 1 on 1 with either of those guys, leaving no safety help, Childress was confident they could win those battles. If safties dropped, Taylor, Hutch and McKinnie could pop off 4-5 yards a crack. The loss of KoRo really hurt that plan. I think Johnson is a very low cost attempt to see if they can ressurrect a guy who had enough talent to get drafted in the 2nd just 3 years ago and a gameplan that went up in the smoke of tires at 110 mph (KoRo). Another reason to pick him up? The Vikings host the Pats week 8. Maybe this is simply Childress' attempt to glean any inside knowledge he can?? I'll keep an eye on it, but I wouldn't expect much for at least a month, if ever.

I'm hearing rumblings that Bethel Johnson could be used in a return role, similar to KoRo from last year. Right now, the Vikings are running their starting WR on kickoff, and their #2 RB (and almost fulltime 3rd down RB) on punts. Somewhat risky, so it wouldn't suprise me to see BJ2 taking over both roles.

Chester Taylor is on the injury report again. Doesn't sound like this is too serious, and Taylor should start this week against GB. HOWEVER!!! This is something that we need to keep an eye on. There's been a lot of speculation on whether Taylor can stand up to the load this season. At the halfway point, he's starting to pop on the injury report a few times. Don't be suprised to see Mewelde Moore pilfer a few more 3rd down opps this week to spell Taylor a little more. Taylor is the only thing working on offense for the Vikings, so they can't afford to wear him out and lose him. Moore would be an adequate fill in for a game or two, but his injury history is substantial, and he can't take over for more than 3 or 4 games.
