I would do that trade in a FLASH!!! Defenses are very week to week. Even the great Defenses (Carolina) have real crappy weeks. So I would definately do this trade for the likes of Delhomme and Williams. Even though Jake had a really crappy week this week. He will definately rebound soon. And take the trade while the Charger stock is skyrocketed after their performance last night. I really wouldn't expect another 8 sack game like they had last night again this season. Aaron Brooks just sucks. And I wouldn't be to worried about starting the Detroit defense. they looked good against Seattle last week. But if you are, I know quite a bit of people who play the matchup game with defenses on the Waiver wire and come up pretty good. Philip Rivers and Kitna both are not very reliable backups in my opinion. However, I would more than likely start Delhomme and keep Brees on the bench as a SOLID backup. And maybe Deal away Kitna as well. Do the trade

First and foremost, MANly MAN, ... to "the Gridiron". Kick off your shoes and hang out for a while. We got a great bunch here. Enjoy! As for the trade, I basically agree with O4l. Delhomme was my preseason #2, and I think he'll fill the bill in short order. With Smith out and a (what is to be) surprisingly good Falcons D, Week One was (in all likelihood) an aberration. That said, I am not too high on Williams for this season, and since this is NOT a deep keeper league... Still, though, Williams for the Chargers is at least about an even deal (I'll always take a talented player with whatever upswing over a defense), and Delhomme for Rivers is a rip, Week One notwithstanding. The Raiders looked TERRIBLE last night. Rivers will have his ups and DOWNS this year, MUCH MORE so than Delhomme. Good luck! Oh,... also,... if you plan on hangin' around the joint, in particular for trade/line-up help, PLEASE, like the following chap, make this your ONE "Trade Help" thread for the season in lieu of littering the board with trade help threads every time you have a trade on the table. Just use this one thread like the following guy: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=55;a ction=display;num=1157498907. Thank you!

I too would go for this trade. Williams has some good upside value and Delhomme could be your stater every week. He seems to remain an underrated quarterback. I would pull the trigger on this one. Good luck.

The only hesitation I have is the same team angle. How often do you want to start the QB/RB combo on a team? QB/WR can be an ok combo, but QB/RB is much more dangerous. You really need Carolina to score significant points every week if you're starting both. That said, you really do need Foster's backup, as Maroney isn't starting yet. And you're getting a TON back for a defense. I'd go for it, but I'd advise starting Brees as often as you can to avoid the "penalty" of starting RB & QB.
