Well, if lots of defenses are ranked higher than Carolina this week, then it prolly won't cost you as much money to hang on to them for at least a couple more weeks.

I am also an owner of the Carolina D (not in a money league though) and I am sticking with them the whole season.  This is just a bad week (*and the first one mind you)  let things get settled in to at least week 3 before making a decision like dropping their defense.

As far as the San Diego D, I don't think they are really that good.  They are on most leagues waiver wire for a reason, because they really aren't that good.  The Raiders just stunk up the joint and Aaron Brooks has absolutely no idea how to throw away the ball.  So I wouldn't be to quick to drop a solid defense in Carolina for the one week wonders in San Diego.

I'd definitely start Tiki...

How many do you start?

I would rank them:

Tiki
Bush
McAllister
Addai

Tiki will get his #'s... especially after getting shut down last week.  Bush will be doing everything... each touch = possibility for a huge play.  McAllister will get plenty of touches and will produce.

I basically agree with Chumpman, except I would flip-flop Bush and McAllister.  I think, when in doubt, play it close to the vest.

Yes, "I" would...  As the regulars around here would tell you, I've been riding the Rudi Johnson bandwagon regularly this year.  Over at StegsList.com, I had him ranked shockingly high to most folks this preseason.  But, mind you, it is a close call.  Tiki's quality and Addai showed something last week.  In a way, though, it seems right now as though McMichael is the Dolphins only hope.  (Ironically) I can't remember right now...  Is this a deep keeper league?  If so, I would DEFINITELY do the deal.  If not, I would, but I'd be expecting some (significant) disagreement with me on that one, and it wouldn't be unfounded.

today's topic is QUARTERBACK...
warner vs. a surely p!$$#& off atlanta defense...
he's traditionally done well against them and i'm not penalized for turnovers...

delhomme vs. a possibly under-rated saints defense (who i'm also playing and it ALWAYS sucks to play one of your guys against your defense...)

 ...hmmm, whadaya think folks???

This may sound crazy because, to some, prm, you may have two good choices here.  I regretfully have to tell you that I would disagree with those some, and that your concern is legitimate.  I do think that Delhomme will burst out of his funk with Steve Smith now back; (in consequence) the Panthers will get the ship righted, and I do think the Saints will, at least, come back down to earth here soon.  Warner just scares me right now.  If they get way behind early, I think there is a chance Warner would get benched during the game (though I don't necessarily think he wouldn't start their next game if Leinart too was... eh).  I would go with Delhomme in the hopes that he gets untracked starting this week (and probably start leaving Warner on your bench until further notice).

You have a passing game to Smith and Keyshawn against a lousy secondary.  If the score keeps it to the passing game, Delhomme is money.

Warner is playing a Falcons D that doesn't give up passing TD's.  Even if Abraham doesn't work against him, Warner has a bad match-up.

Go with Delhomme.

...obviously, i can't stay w/ warner...(sometimes you must let go of the past...)... ...but i can't let delhomme determine my future @ qb despite his potential...so on the waiver wire...
frye, leftwitche, brady, carr, brunell...
can't say that ANY of them thrill me for any reason - but as noted above, i need to make a change - what do you guys think???...salary-wise, i can get them all - but it's $5 to me to choose one...standard points for a qb & now -1 for ints...
thanks,

Yeah.  Well.  I hate Brady.  But just as a standard rank for the rest of the year for now:

1. Brady
2. Carr
3. Frye
4. Leftwich
5. Brunell

For what it's worth - I like Delhomme better than all of them.

...thanks guys, and all you have to do is go back the past couple of seasons' archives (if that exists) to see that jake has ALWAYS been my favorite - but that doesn't erase his up & down stats...195 & 2 tds, 2 int - not as good as 225 & 2 tds 2 int - not by much but points are points and you can sometimes tell who has jake's number...ANYWAY, i got carr to help in matchup quandry's...thanks for the input   (i think he'd be as good as peyton if he had protection and personnel - (but some of US may be as well)...
anyway...
a year ago, this question would have been ridiculous -
but this week i need to decide between:

DEUCE - who ALWAYS does well vs. tampa
TIKI - who has been slow to start & has a poor matchup vs the run - not bad vs. pass
ADDAI - vs. tennessee...say no more
and i've pretty much decided to sit REGGIE vs. tampa also because of his slow start and other options...
also at WR this week i'm torn between:
FITZ - believe it or not (you know his situation)
KEY - whom i chose ONLY because of STEVE SMITH's presence
COLSTON - and i just like this kid (and my SAINTS)...
need 2 rb / 2 wr and scoring is standard w/ no penalties...
so whadaya think???thanks.

I think the WAS/NYG tilt will be a shootout, so I agree in leaving Tiki on the pine, and going with Addai and Deuce.

At WR, I'd go Me-shawn and Fitz.  I really hate the RB WR combo on one team, unless it's LT, cuz he can actually throw it to your WR

Good luck!

I think it's best to follow the adage: "Always start your studs."

So I'd go with Tiki. He's a stud. He'll be fine, even against Washington (who is a little bit overrated).

I'd also go with Addai over Deuce. I think that Indy will be looking to get their running game on track this weekend against the Haynesworthless Titans. I also think that this will be the week that the Saints look to  get Reggie Bush going a bit more (as they'll likely be up early against Bruce Gradkowski and his Toledo, err, Tampa Bay Bucs).

At WR, I'd go with Fitzgerald (hesitantly with a rookie QB starting) and Marques Colston, purely because he's been more effective lately than Keyshawn, so I'll ride the hot hand here.

Wow!  You've got nothin' but good choices.  At RB, I'd go Tiki (you just can't bench him) and Deuce, but really it's a toss-up between Deuce and Addai.  I just lean toward Deuce.  It's just gut!  At WR, I'd go with Fitzgerald (again, you just can't bench him) and Keyshawn over Colston because Colston, actually, was coming way back down to earth last week (I saw that game).  He was on the verge of a 4-for-45-ish game when he broke that 86 yard TD in, what was pretty much, garbage time (it looked like the Carolina secondary was done for the day, at least).  Don't get me wrong.  It is what it is,... a great touchdown run.  But, if New Orleans goes up big on Tampa this week, a likely occurrance, there won't be a garbage-time big-play pass.  I firmly believe Colston's trip back to earth, as defenses familiarize themselves with the kid, is a virtual certainty,... not that he is not a good fantasy player to have, especially in deep keeper leagues.

I agree, except for Keyshawn over Colston.  I don't think Key will get the looks later in the game due to the Browns' D.  No need to keep passing to Keyshawn after the Panthers are up enough to go to ground control.
