The $1,000,000 question here is,... has Tatum Bell any chance of deposing Kevin Jones as the team's #1 tailback???  Thoughts, anyone???

After K. Jones gets back, which may take a big chunk of the season, I'd look for an RBBC in DET.

Detroit has come out and all but said Kevin Jones is still the starter.  They just need insurance with his injury.  No one is sure when Jones will be back.

I think Detroit learned the hard way that you have to have an insurance policy.  Their top three back, Jones, Bryson, and Calhoun all ended the season on IR.

With all that being said, if indications are that Jones will be back early in the season, don't be surprised to see Tatum Bell get moved yet again. (for the right price)  But don't count on him being moved because his salary cap #s are very low.

They better be thinking about trading Tatum Bell... that is one crowded backfield now: Kevin Jones, Tatum Bell, TJ Duckett, Brian Calhoun, Shawn Bryson.

With Jones's lis franc-ed up foot, it won't be long before Michigan native, Michigan State star and local boy finally gets his chance to make a splash in the NFL and is starting for his hometown Detroit Lions.  Mark my words... Also, given that injury and a fairly lackluster season in Mike Martz's offense, don't be surprised if Kevin Jones isn't the odd man out here, leaving Duckett to be the go-to starter and Bell to do what he does best, provide that punch out of the #2 hole.  Shawn Bryson is forever filler, and Brian Calhoun, I think, is headed for a similar fate.  As it stands right now, the former is the likely cut.  But, again, I think something bigger's brewin' here... All I would say to my fellow fantasy footballers is Kevin Jones owners just beware!

Wideouts coming in in droves...  According to this LOCAL writer, one should be shown his way to the door...  From "The REAL Feed":

As draft approaches, Lions must cut ties with Mike Williams
Detroit Lions (15.04.2007 02:22)
Putting my 2 cents in, with the NFL draft 13 days away:

Mike Williams has been a total disaster.  The Lions do need to get rid of him.

What could of been.  You wonder where he would be if he was allowed to enter the draft a year earlier.  Or if he was able to go back to school.  He did get kind of screwed in that aspect.  With that being said though, I do not feel too bad for a guy who got that much money and then just stunk it up!!
