The... is NOT quite out of the picture just yet... HOT off "The REAL Feed": Holmes tells Chiefs he's coming to training camp USA TODAY: NFL (25.07.2007 16:17) Running back Priest Holmes has told the Kansas City Chiefs that he will report to training camp. Holmes, who led the NFL in rushing ... I wouldn't even give this a second thought, mind you, if it weren't for the possible LJ holdout... It potentially gives the team an extra bargaining chip, so to speak, or takes one away from LJ, should I say...

"Holmes is in this for himself" Here's a very interesting read on the return of Priest Holmes: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chiefs/story/210563.html ---- And here's a clip from it to capture your interest: Holmes announced Sunday that he's going to spend the next three weeks getting in shape in preparation of putting on the pads. It's easy to envision a scenario in which the Chiefs are forced to make a roster decision on Holmes without seeing him carry the football in an exhibition game. Once Holmes is placed on the active, regular-season roster, his entire salary is guaranteed, and it won't be difficult for Holmes to find another doctor's note excusing him to eat nachos and coach little-league football in San Antonio for the fall. "No one wants to be hit with a malpractice suit so, of course, the doctors are going to respond accordingly," Holmes responded when asked what physicians have told him. Holmes later added: "Like I mentioned before, without even taking the field, there's so much I can provide this team." ---- Feel better about drafting LJ?

"They" say L. J. may miss Week One... From "The REAL Feed": Chiefs' Johnson might miss season opener NFL News: RealFootball365.com (22.08.2007 18:55) One day after inking a new five-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, starting running back Larry Johnson isn't sure he'll be ready for the season opener. Johnson, who carried the ball an NFL-record 417 times last year for over 1,700 yards, just ended a 25-day holdout and isn't positive he... "I" say, "HOGWASH!!!"
