Washington started, and through the first possession he and Jones split work.  Actually, Washington got more.  He's looked the better of the two thus far.  But, it's early...

Saw it with mine own eyes here in HI...  Pennington's leg was twisted around like it was Gumby's,... green uni and all.  But, though he limped, he did continue to play on until all hope was lost.  So, the title of this TSN report IS a bit tendentious.  He didn't leave the game right after getting injured.  But, he did limp around, and it wouldn't surprise me if the MRI yielded unwelcomed results. Brought to you via "The REAL Feed":

Pennington likely to miss upcoming game... according to "The REAL Feed":

PENNINGTON DOUBTFUL FOR WEEKEND
Sporting Life: NFL (12.09.2007 17:55)
New York Jets quarterback Chad Pennington remains a doubt to face the Baltimore Ravens.

Jets' Pennington preparing as if he'll play vs. Ravens despite ankle injury
SI.com: NFL (12.09.2007 17:28)

The real question is,... if Pennington is a no-go, will Clemens capitilize on the opportunity???

LOCAL source indicates that we're likely to see Clemens over Pennington today...  From "The REAL Feed":

Ravens set to prey on Clemens or Pennington
New York Daily News: Sports - Football (16.09.2007 11:52)
Although Chad Pennington's rapidly improving right ankle has created some uncertainty, Kellen Clemens is likely to make his first NFL start today when the Jets face the Ravens.

I have a hard time believing that this is just not hyping up of Pennington in order that the Jets get something for him in a trade, like a mid round draft pick.  He is due to earn 4+ million dollars next year.  I seriously doubt the Jets will pay a back up that much money.

I agree, DD.  The Jets are trying to ramp up the price.  But who wants to play on that team???  (Hey, I'm a Raider fan.  I can say that.   )
