Trade for Kevin Jones?

Hi all!

Standard scoring + 1 PPR.  Also get 1pt/15 return yards.

Start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, WR/RB, WR/TE, TE, K, D

Roster
QB - Brees, Bulger
WR - Holt, Driver, Welker, Branch
RB - Parker, Jamal Lewis, Bush , Lendale White
TE - Gates, Heath Miller
K - Stover
D/ST - PIT, NYG
*starters in bold

I've been offered Kevin Jones for the NYG defense.  His first offer was Kevin Jones and DeShaun Foster for Miller and NYG

In a normal league, that 1st offer would be a no brainer!   A TE and D/ST for 2 RBs!   But in a PPR league, you have to make sure you don't give up too many receptions.   After all, 3 catches for 7 yards is still 3 pts.    But I declined, because Gates bye is week 7 and I need Miller to cover it.  Greg Olsen and LJ Smith are available on WW, but who would I drop to cover Gates' bye?

I guess I could drop a RB, since I'd have 6 (way to many for a PPR league only mandating 2 starters.)

Thoughts?   Should I do this deal, drop Jamal or White for a fill-in TE week 7?

Keep in mind:  NYG D is coming on and plays some terrible offenses coming up (bold):  ATL, SF, MIA, bye, DAL, DET, MIN, CHI, PHI, WAS, BUF, NE
while PIT plays: bye, DEN, CIN, BAL, CLE, NYJ, MIA, CIN, NE, JAX, STL, BAL

NYG is a MUCH better D going forward then PIT, IMO; plus, if I trade NYG, I've got to find a replacement FOR THIS WEEK   .

There's a lot of moving pieces here, someone help me sort this out!   I'm leaning toward standing pat.   If Jones were healthy, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but he's only getting 10 carries a game, and Martz offense hasn't looked stellar the last couple weeks.

THOUGHTS???

Captain

I would hold off until next week and then make the deal that includes Foster and Miller.

The Steelers defense is very good in my book.  When you have one solid defense I think you are better off playing them every week than trying to guess when you should play them.  The defense by committee is a good idea when you have a couple of mediocre defenses.

Well, he's changed the deal.  He now wants to send me Kurt Warner & Kevin Jones for Marc Bulger and NYG.

thoughts?

Even better!  Warner and Jones are each more valuable than the Giants and Bulger.

I would jump all over this if you can wait until next week.  You may want to do it even if you cannot wait.

I would do the deal and drop white or lewis and pick up a bye week filler defense. Then wait till next week and drop the defense and pick up olsen to cover Gates!

I'm with the consensus here...  You had better have gotten this done, cp...  Unless this is a deep keeper (and, perhaps, even then), Warner for Bulger makes the deal even better.
