Notwithstanding talk coming out of Jets' camp lately, Pennington likely won't be back with the team. What do we think the possibilities for him are??? Here's what I think... in order... 1) Kansas City 2) Chicago 3) Miami 4) Carolina (if Delhomme has severe complications returning apparent early in the going) 5) Baltimore 6) San Francisco (this might have been my #1 choice had Martz not gone to SF) 7) Jets (and is given a chance to compete for the starting job, at least at the outset of camp) Incidentally, for whatever reason, I don't think there is a chance he ends up in Atlanta. What do you all think?

| Pennington will probably sign somewhere 'with a chance to compete for the starting job.' Since Pennington does NOT have a strong arm, I would totally rule out San Francisco. Martz wants a guy who will gun it. Otherwise, I agree with all of the other teams you have and they they are all realistic, but I would rank them differently. I would put it in this order: KC - knows Herm Edwards and fits into the run first offense. Jets- Clemmens is not that great and they know what Pennington can do. Miami- ANYONE is better than what they have. Carolina- As Steg said, Delholme has a ton of questions marks, and the Panthers would be crazy to depend on Matt Moore (even though he played half way decent). Baltimore- Chad would have a chance to compete. Raiders- With so many QBs this year, I think they need a back up to Russell. Daunte only signed for 1 year and will be in another teams uniform. Patiots- this is a SWAG. Pats sign him as insurance to Brady going down. I think the Pats realize the value of a good back up QB.

I personally think Pennington stays with the Jets. They're not sold on Clemens yet--justifiably so. I think he'll be given the option of competing for the starting job and stick around. For the other teams: Atlanta - Look for them to grab Matt Ryan if he isn't taken by the Fins. Miami - There's a chance that they could trade down with the Cowboys. If that happens, Joe Flacco could be their selection late in the first or early in the second. Or they could take Matt Ryan first overall. San Fran - Probably not, although signing him might be a PR move to show that they still have some faith in Alex Smith and are just looking for a QB to push him. Drafting a QB early would indicate that drafting Smith was a bad decision (which it was, but they'd probably rather not admit it). Baltimore and Chicago - They've both been linked to rumors about Donovan McNabb winding up there. Will it happen? I think there's a chance, albeit a very slim one. More than likely, both will look to the draft for help. Kansas City - A possibility, and Pennington was a productive QB under Herm Edwards in NY. The team still believes that Brodie Croyle will develop into a starter and they also like Tyler Thigpen's upside. New England - A reunion with Randy Moss? This one has some merit, although he'd have to be willing to sign for close to the minimum with an incentive-laden contract. Carolina - Again, it might make sense given Jake's recent injury history and the fact that the Panthers made no secrets about looking for his replacement last off-season. From what I hear, though, they will probably be happy to ride Delhomme for another year and see if Matt Moore is legit (they liked what they saw of him this year). How about Tampa? Jeff Garcia probably has another year or two in him, but he'll miss some time with little injuries and Pennington could be a nice back-up in that offense.
