Unlike I would say for Favre, for Stevie Mac it was time...  Thanks for the ride, though.  You were one tough son of a bitch! ...

In the wake of the McNair retirement... is left a quarterback controversy.  From "The REAL Feed":

Add another to that aforementioned QB competition... according to "The REAL Feed":

Rookie QB Joe Flacco impresses Ravens
New York Daily News: Sports - Football (10.05.2008 00:55)
Joe Flacco, the 6-6 rookie from the University of Delaware and Audubon, N.J., set out to prove he's worthy of being the 18th pick (Baltimore) in the NFL draft and capable of starting in his first season.

Flacco is good potential, but he's a project in a tough division and with a tough, complicated playbook to learn.  I think Smith or Boller start the season, then whichever one doesn't start takes over - unless the first one looks good - and if all else fails Flacco gets thrown to the wolves mid-season or later for "experience."  That would be a bad decision for Flacco's future, and I don't think Cam is that dumb.  At least that's what I hope will happen, for Flacco's sake.
