Less work for Westbrook
phillyblurb.com
http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/99-05052008-1529301.html

...Mornhinweg thinks more balance will not only help the offense become less predictable but will also make Westbrook more dangerous.

'We have so many guys who can make plays," Mornhinweg said. "Reggie and Kevin, getting L.J. back, [newcomer Lorenzo] Booker, getting Donovan healthy - and Donovan looks great - and all the others.

"Brian is an amazing player, but if we can get everybody involved, now maybe that takes a little heat off Westbrook and puts a little heat on the defense, and Brian becomes even more explosive."

Though it is VERY early, you just can't slough off any injury news anymore when it comes to Donovan McNabb...  From "The REAL Feed":

McNabb out with shoulder tendinitis

Shawn Andrews finally came out and announced that he's battling depression. He's on medication and has sought professional help on the matter. He's meeting with a doctor Thursday and might be joining the team shortly thereafter (and likely after the two-a-days have finished).

Some of my thoughts about the Eagles following their first pre-season game:

The Eagles receiving corps, already a mess with everyone healthy, is a complete fustercluck now. Reggie Brown, perennial underachiever, is battling a hamstring injury. Kevin Curtis now has a sports hernia and is facing surgery for it. So we're looking at Greg Lewis, Hank Baskett, and Jason Avant, along with exciting rookie Desean Jackson.

The only good news with all of this is the timing of Anquan Boldin's announcement that he's looking to be traded from the Cards now. Maybe the Eagles will be players in that market. They could really use him (and he's my #2 WR on my money team, so I'd love to see him in Eagles green).

Amazing how the Eagles total lack of pursuit of a receiver in the offseason comes back to bite them in the butt.  Who saw this coming?

To make matters worse, the Eagles manage to lose leverage with the Cards even when Boldin declares he wants a trade!  They might as well send a 2nd rounder to the Cards in the deal and move on........
