WOW....Huge News.

Plaxico Burress is suspended 1 game.

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page =nfl/news/news.aspx?id=4181575

So, essentially, fantasy owners are without him for 2 weeks because he is on a bye this week and suspended week #5.

Plax may not miss a game after all... according to this New York LOCAL daily on "The REAL Feed":

PLAXICO IS HOPING FOR SUSPENSION REPRIEVE
NY Post: Giants (26.09.2008 05:58)
The Giants are preparing to play without Plaxico Burress next Sunday against the Seahawks, but there is a chance the wide receiver might be back on the field by then, because the NFL Players Association still has not decided what it is going to do...

Is Burress starting to "lose it"?  Now, he's been shot... From "The REAL Feed":

Reports: Giants' Burress shot in leg at club
SI.com: NFL (29.11.2008 14:10)

Wonder how long this will hamper his P.T.?

...

In other more "mundane" news, D takes a hit, finally loses Knight for the rest of the season:

Giants put Knight on IR because of hip condition
ESPN: NFL (29.11.2008 15:25)
The New York Giants veteran safety Sammy Knight will miss the rest of the season because of a hip problem.

Burress is now going to face criminal charges if he did not have a permit.  By the way, it is manadatory jail time in New York.  Could be ugly....

Is this a receiving corps or the marine corps?  All kinds of negative news rolling off "The REAL Feed" for the Giants' receivers involving guns:

Giants receiver Steve Smith robbed at gunpoint
ESPN: NFL (02.12.2008 12:34)
New York Giants second-year receiver Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of Nov. 25 after arriving home, according to Clifton, N.J., police.

Burress follows directions, arrives at Giants Stadium
NFL.com (02.12.2008 12:22)
Plaxico Burress has arrived at Giants Stadium, oneday after the star receiver was charged with illegal gun possession.

Antonio Pierce is also finding himself in hot water because of his participation in the cover-up of this.  ...  And, then, there's this, "mundanity" at this point, to boot...

HAMSTRING INJURY FOR SHOT BURRESS
Sporting Life: NFL (02.12.2008 12:52)
Plaxico Burress has had his hamstring treated a day after he was arrested on illegal weapon charges.

Not a big surprise here...  From "The REAL Feed":

Jacobs tops list of Giants inactives against Vikes
SI.com: NFL (28.12.2008 12:58)

That said, I don't think Ward is a good play this week against Minny.

Not that I totally agree with this claim, but this LOCAL source rollin' off "The REAL Feed" touts RB Ward as 2009's Michael Turner potentially in the waiting...

WARD WILL BE TOUGH FOR GIANTS TO KEEP
NY Post: Giants (12.01.2009 15:25)
Derrick Ward could be next year's Michael Turner. Turner toiled for years behind LaDainian Tomlinson on San Diego's depth chart before signing with the Falcons this offseason then finishing second in the NFL in rushing behind the Vikings Adrian...

Actually, with both Jacobs and Ward free-agents this offseason,... this is an interesting situation...  Stay tuned...
