Culpepper is evidently our "Furrey little friend"... and starter to be... according to this LOCAL source rolling off "The REAL Feed":

Culpepper will start, according to Furrey
Detroit Lions (16.02.2009 01:46)
Former Lions receiver Mike Furrey, released by the team last week, told Sirius NFL Radio on Sunday morning he expects Daunte Culpepper will be the Lions' starting quarterback next season.

D gets some help and Jones gets some (unwelcome?) company in the offensive backfield... according to "The REAL Feed":

Lions ink RB Morris, CB King
The Sports Network: NFL (28.02.2009 16:10)

From a fantasy perspective, this is DEFINITELY not the destination I would have dialed up for Maurice Morris...

So good to see the Lions' focusing on the high-need positions.  Another wide-receiver added to the fold, just what the doctor ordered...  From "The REAL Feed":

WR Johnson signs 3-year deal
SI.com: NFL (02.03.2009 19:19)
The Detroit Lions signed free agent receiver Bryant Johnson to a three-year contract on Monday, adding the former first-round draft pick to complement rising star Calvin Johnson.

Lions, Seahawks switch around some defenders... according to "The REAL Feed":

Hawks deal Peterson for Lions' Redding
SI.com: NFL (14.03.2009 12:16)
The Seattle Seahawks, unable to get disappointing pass-rusher Julian Peterson to take a pay cut, traded him to Detroit Saturday for defensive lineman Cory Redding, who is in the midst of a big contract of his own.

Stafford off to a good start... according to "The REAL Feed":

Stafford impresses in 1st practice
SI.com: NFL (01.05.2009 22:19)
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- Matthew Stafford looked spectacular at times, fitting spirals in tight places and delivering pinpoint passes downfield.

Well, after impressing at the first practice, some believe Stafford will be starting the first week... according to "The REAL Feed":

Peter King: Stafford may be Lions opening-day starter
SI.com: NFL (01.06.2009 09:44)
How quickly is Matt Stafford catching on? SI.com's Peter King checks in on Detroit and also muses on Drew Brees, Matt Millen, an invisible HOFer and more.

Is this fantasy-relevant?  I suppose so...  From "The REAL Feed":

Culpepper doing his best to beat out Stafford for Lions' starting QB job
NFL.com (24.06.2009 21:14)
Detroit coach Jim Schwartz has steadfastly stuck with what he has said since Stafford was taken No. 1 overall in the NFL draft, insisting that the best players will be on the field when the Lions open the season Sept. 13 at New Orleans.

Lions WR Bryant Johnson takes part in individual drills at camp

Detroit Lions wide receiver Bryant Johnson took a step forward in his comeback from an offseason golf cart accident, taking part in individual drills on Wednesday at training camp.

ESPN: NFL (18.08.2009 16:07)
Longtime kicker Jason Hanson, a two-time Pro Bowl selection and the team's career leading scorer, underwent what coach Jim Schwartz called a "fairly minor" procedure to treat a nagging knee injury Tuesday morning.
