Panthers In-season Report
« on: Sep 13th, 2009, 11:55pm »

Delhomme responsible for, like, 11 or 12 turnovers in his last two games and gets benched...  That's what this LOCAL report rolling off "The REAL Feed" means by "back in playoff form":

Panthers, Delhomme back in playoff form
Sports: NFL / Football -- Charlotte.com (13.09.2009 20:19)
(By Charles Chandler, cchandler@charlotteobserver.com) There's no good day to have a bad day, but it's certainly not in the season opener at home while the owner with extraordinary expectations looks on with the former NFL commissioner by his side.
On the embarrassment scale, Carolina's 38-1...

Is it time to cut ties with Steve Smith? This guy is one of the biggest busts this year. He is averaging less than 60 yds a game and only has 1 TD. I'm sure I'm not the only guy that he has lost games for this year.
What do you guys think??? I can cut him and get Meachem, L. Coles or Cotchery. They are not better than him, but with Carolina's RUN FIRST, RUN SECOND offense??? What do you guys think? It doesn't help that I have Calvin Johnson too.

If the league is not a keeper league, I'd say cut him for Cotchery.  If the league is a (genuine) keeper league (i.e., you keep more than just a couple players), I would probably hold on to him over those guys.

This is really 2010 news,... but we're still in the 2009 season here on "the Gridiron", so here it is... from a LOCAL source on "The REAL Feed":

Panthers schedule is 26th toughest
Sports: NFL / Football -- Charlotte.com (08.01.2010 21:31)
The Carolina Panthers' 2010 schedule is the 26th toughest in the NFL, based on their opponents' 2009 records, according to ESPN Stats and Information. That's quite a contrast from '09, when Carolina's schedule was the second hardest in the league. Next season's opponents will have a cumulative re...

They say that this stuff doesn't really matter,... BUT it did for the Panthers "in the opposite way" this past season... Just a little something worth tucking away for future reference...
