In somewhat of a surprise announcement, team indicates their plans to hold on to McGahee... and, thus, as I see it, "hold him back"...  Currently atop "The REAL Feed":

Such sad news for such a great player, and the emotional leader... the heart and soul... may retire due to his torn triceps.  
God bless ya Ray!!! Get well soon bro. I would hate to see ya leave the game, but would understand it. He really has nothing else to prove though, and wants to watch his son at THE "U" next year as a RB.
