WR Nelson undergoes surgery, shaky for Week 1. From "The REAL Feed": WR Jordy Nelson joins ranks of Packers injured Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Sports (06.08.2013 18:42) McCarthy said Bulaga, who played roughly 30 plays in Saturday night's scrimmage, was injured on the seventh play, but no one seemed certain of just how he hurt himself. Rookie fourth-round pick David Bakhtiari worked at Bulaga's left tackle spot in practice Tuesday and would start there in Fri... In other somewhat noteworthy Packers news rolling off "The REAL Feed": Packers sign QB Vince Young as backup Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Sports (06.08.2013 18:43) The Packers are hoping that Young, out of football last year after being cut by the Buffalo Bills, can pick up the offense quickly enough to make a serious run at the backup job behind Aaron Rodgers. I think the Packers are doing themselves a grave disservice by shelving Montgomery in favor of Jones while Hundley is under center. Maybe Jones is a better pure running back than Montgomery, and maybe when Rodgers is back at the helm, he will be the guy they should go with. Hundley, however, to have success needs that more versatile back, who moreover can better function in the no-huddle, someone who is not just a good runner but also a good receiver, and that is indubitably Montgomery, not Jones. Jones may be the better running back by a little bit, but Montgomery is the better receiving back by "a lotta" bit. Make no mistakes... Before getting injured, Montgomery was about to break out in that first game against the Bears.
