Torn ankle ligament. Looks like his 2-3 yr career is over.

I am guessing it means exactly what it says.  Grant is out for the year.   He thinks not only is his season over, but it could be career ending.  
 
I do not know enough about injuries to make that statement, but it would not surprise me if that was the case.   Even if he did come back next year, is he going to be the same?  Is this going to force the Packers to go in another direction (ie...draft a RB)?  Is someone going to take his role via trade, etc?

It does not look good for Jordy Nelson - preliminary report is that it is a torn ACL.

I think the Packers are doing themselves a grave disservice by shelving Montgomery in favor of Jones while Hundley is under center.  Maybe Jones is a better pure running back than Montgomery, and maybe when Rodgers is back at the helm, he will be the guy they should go with.  Hundley, however, to have success needs that more versatile back, who moreover can better function in the no-huddle, someone who is not just a good runner but also a good receiver, and that is indubitably Montgomery, not Jones.  Jones may be the better running back by a little bit, but Montgomery is the better receiving back by "a lotta" bit.  Make no mistakes...  Before getting injured, Montgomery was about to break out in that first game against the Bears.
