I am going to go back to 1989 and go year for year with each post, thus, extending the lifespan of this thread. (Wow! I need a life! ) In 1989, I had Steve Grogan, one of my all-time favorites. Team name: (yea, it was mispilled! )

Good ONES, so far! Let's keep 'em cumming, I mean, coming! Okay, that was juvenile! Well, I kept "Grogan's Heros" for 2 seasons. I then had a few pretty gay team names before going back to ones that included names of the players on my roster. "Omegamen" was one of them as I was in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. In 1993, with the popularity of the show "Beavis & Butthead" and my having Marion Butts, I became... ...the No, not Butt-sheds (though that is pretty funny, too), like the people at the company who hosted our league used to say in their telephone-accessible weekly results. It was Butts-heads! And, "me" and the Butts-heads won ourselves a Super Bowl that season, but, in truth, the Super Bowl was not the coveted crown of the league.

In 1995, "in the name of" one of my all-time favorite players (and some old wrestler from back in the day), especially considering I am a HUGE Broncos fan, I became... ...named after my main man, John Elway , who, of course, based on the precedent I set, was on my team! With this team, I began a four-year run of bridesmaids' finishes, 2nd Place that is! The value of those solid finishes was punctuated by two bookend Championships. Point being, it was a good six-year run for the Stegger !

In 1996, when Deion Sanders started out the season playing quite a bit at wide receiver for "America's Team," I drafted him and named my team... Even used him and got a win with him the week he actually had a solid 80-yard game. And, yes, loyal to my team's name, I held on to him for the WHOLE season.

In 1997, after making it a point to trade for Jerry Rice during the offseason just so I could finally use this team name I had come up with years prior, Jerry suffers torn ligaments on opening day. Appropriately, I suppose, my team name was... you can probably guess... That was the third of my aforementioned four consecutive second-place finishes, before and after which there were two Championship bookends.
