Thinking about league setup for next year.

We've got a 12 team league.  Last year, we tried 14 man rosters with a 2 spot IR.   Problem was, we didn't have an active commish (he's the CIO of my company) so he wasn't checking the IR to see if guys were still injured.   Sportsline would have those little red symbols next to their name for 3 weeks after they got hurt, but guys would still have them on IR so they could stash guys on the roster and not have to drop them.   This year, we decided to have no IR to prevent this from occuring.  The decision was made to have 16 man rosters with no IR.   Playing with the smaller free agent pool proved to be a little difficult for some of the guys in my league.  Some of them just didn't have the time to spend researching for sleepers and thus, were dependent on their somewhat subpar drafting skills.   I can't suggest to make this a keeper league for next year due to the fact that I work at a consulting firm and we're never really sure if all of 12 of us will continue to work there. The fact that it made it thru its second year in the current state of the tech market is pretty good.   Just looking for some possible suggestions for a year to year league, in regards to roster size and setup.  Thanks.......M

Do you use an online service, like yahoo or CBS Sportsline? Or do you have someone do the stats by hand? Most online services can be customized to fit your league specs...I was in an 8 team yahoo, a 15 team yahoo and a 12 team CBS league this year and the scoring and specs were different for all three...
