Charles Rogers
Wide Receiver
Michigan State
6-3, 205 pounds
 
Charles Rogers is the best prospect in this years draft. Period. He combines speed, size, hands and great route running. He runs a 4.24 40 and has a fantastic verticle leap.  
 
Prognosis in draft: Rogers should go to Detroit with the second pick, unless someone jumps over them in a trade with Cincinnati.

If someone is trading picks with Cincinnati, it's because they want a QB.

I don't necessarily agree. Rogers is the biggest impact player in the draft at any position. He is Randy Moss without the attitude. If my team's biggest need was an impact wide receiver and I could work a deal with Cincinnati, you bet you ass I'd do it!!

I honestly can't remember the last time a team moved up (significantly in the first round) for a WR.  I think the general perception around the league is that a quality receiver can be had in the 1st, 2nd, even 3rd rounds...
 
Not taking anything away from Rogers, who is certainly the stud WR of the draft, but QB is the most important position on the field and I think someone will be looking to make a deal with Cincinnati (because they are buffoons who will give up the 1st pick for well below market value) to get Palmer.

Anyone out there think Detroit won't take Rogers? I wish I remember the link where I read they were thinking of trading the pick. With Mooch on board now I don't think so...

I think Detroit has stated it is accepting offers.  BUT, the price would have to be high in order to move.
 
The Public Relations bonus of having a Michigan State stud playing in Detroit would be HUGE.  I wouldn't trade the pick for that reason alone.

The latest news seems to indicate that Charles Rogers has already been selected with the #2 pick by the Lions...
