My Opinion:
He's an amazingly strong man in a compact body. You've all heard about his speed. He could be the next Portis in the NFL if he lands with the right team.
HOWEVER, he still has a lot of question marks. He split time this year for many different reasons, so his durability is untested. His injury history doesn't help his durability concerns. He didn't catch many passes as that was more MacKenzie and McCullough outta the backfield. He was constantly outshined by Carson Palmer.
So what's in his favor? His rushing totals for the games he played were decent. Remember, this is a USC team that rushed for -7 yards last year vs. Utah in the LV Bowl (Even the Heismans in Heritage Hall cried). Carson Palmer was the most sacked QB in the Pac-10 the previous 2 years. Further, many of his carries were protecting a lead. This point is rather trivial, as you can argue the D's had given up or you can argue that they were expecting the run.
I'll say this though, he hit his holes very quickly when they appeared, and once he got into the second or third level if you weren't within a yard of him he was gone. I was surprised at how strong he was in his upper body and how he could run through people who made contact. The concern I'm hearing about him is his undersized legs. I predict someone takes a chance on him at the bottom of the first round. IMO, he'll compete for rookie of the year if he gets a starting job somewhere where he doesn't need to focus on receiving and blitz pickup... but only if he stays healthy. At this point, that's still a big if.
So.. he's got the most potential of any back in the draft. It's all about who wants to take the chance with him though. But with how first-round runningbacks have performed over the last few years, he'll be a steal if he's still around in the middle second. RB's are always drafted too high though, so he'll probably go at the end of the first.
