This is a link to a Hall of Fame piece. They had four highly respectable Sports writers have an ultimate Fantasy draft. The teams were made up of 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 1 T, 1 G 1 C, and on defense 1 DT, 1 DE, 1 LB, 1 CB, and 1 S. The writers could select hall of famers or *wild card picks*, which basically meant players that are not in the hall of fame "YET". This is a very intertesting link because you can see how they drafted round by round. How they drafted by position. What was each person's draft stradegy and also some draft commentary. Check it out! First off, AWESOME post, Tone! Very interesting to have looked over! It's REALLY FUN to consider all-time greats, moroever from prior eras, in terms of fantasy football, and the guys they had picking know their stuff. I really enjoyed sifting through the site! Thanks for sharing it, man! 
My only reservation about it is that I really do not think they defined the rules, according to which they were to draft, adequately. They seemed to set it up purposefully loose. It seems like they wanted to consider factors that don't really matter to fantasy football, strictly speaking. What I am saying is that that is an inherently flawed approach, especially when picking all-timers! I mean if you are drafting (great career players) with a specific eye towards great single seasons, Dan Marino's 1984 season, and 1986 season for that matter, would make him a MUCH BETTER selection than QB Sammy Baugh, their (John Clayton's) first pick overall. Meanwhile, Dan Marino wasn't even picked! I mean... come on! Similar could be said for O. J. Simpson, who also was not picked! Perhaps, it is just impossible to compare dudes across eras like that.
However, there is another, perhaps more valid way of doing it. If you are to consider things in the perspective of a keeper league, focusing on longevity, i.e. long-term success, you come up with a whole different set of results, arguably more valid when considering all-timers, as you are considering "everything", solid numbers over a number of seasons, huge single seasons and length of time played. This very type of draft was done, moreover quite well, by Pro Football Weekly in 1998. It's actually been posted at the GBRFL site for a few years now. If you want to check it out, go to:
