Just curious how everyone scores the last pllay of the half for Moss and Culpepper.

I noticed Culpepper got credit for a TD....so how long?

I don't know about each and every system, but if you are using some kind of stat service, it probably is just scored as it is in the box score.  Culpepper gets the passing touchdown and all the yards.  And, I think the receiving yardage is split between Moss and Williams based on where the pitch back took place.  As such, doing it according to the "book", the scoring of this kind of play is/should be quite straightforward, actually.

The funny thing about that play, as incredible as it was, it should have never counted to begin with.  If you watch closely Culpepper was past the line of scrimmage when he released the pass.

An addendum to my explanation above...

This play is basically looked upon statistically as a "hook and lateral".  If Moe did not get any other catches yesterday, his receiving stat line would have been 0 catches for 15 (or however many) yards (he got after he got the pitch) for 1 touchdown.  That's how "hook and laterals" are scored.  Similar-style pitch plays originating on rushing plays and multiple pitches are scored commensurately.  Basically, pitch plays are "scored" in the category they began in, i.e. a reception, a rush, a fumble recovery, an interception, a punt return, etc., etc. (whatever other "etc's." there are).

And, if he had no other catches yesterday besides the hook & lateral, his yards per catch would be...?

In "reality", "infinity"!  In "fantasy", if you were playing in a GBRFL system, where such things are counted, and you had NO OTHER receptions by ANYONE,... shit if I know!

Just thought I would bring it up for differences of opinions.

In my one league we voted and ruled.....Culpepper 59 yard TD pass (all yards) Moss reception 48 yards and other guy 11 yard td (no receiving yards ).

How does that sound?

Also did anyone really have the other guy in this instance?  Sorry at work and can't think of other guys name.

If you guys had just cause to score it that way, I suppose why not.  However, if there is nothing in your fantasy scoring system that makes the standard "documentation" of the play glitchy, I don't see why it should be scored any other way than the way it is officially.

The other guy, who you can't remember, is Moe Williams... and I own him in 3 of my 4 leagues.

I scored it as:

    Who's yer daddy!

Not that I'm biased or anything....

Seriously, I scored it a 44 yd reception to Moss, and 15 yd reception & TD to Moe.  DCulp got a TD pass.

GO VIKES!
