Here's how it's being reported by sources available on "the Gridiron Newsstand"...

Clarett disappointed many when he said he wouldn't be performing at the Combine, choosing instead to showcase his wares at the Ohio St. pro day in early April.  Some said that his reluctance to work out at the Combines would hurt his stock even more.  I actually think he needs the time to get back into shape.  If he ran a 4.6 or higher at the Combine, he would probably fall to a late first-day pick (or, gasp!, second day?!).  With some time to work out and drop about 10 pounds, he'll run in the 4.5-4.5 range and help his stock.  (I know 40 times shouldn't matter that much, but NFL teams put a lot of credence in them).
