Well, "The Two Jakes" of the GBRFL, as many of you know, did it! What a season! What a TEAM effort (to the degree that such a thing can be spoken of in a fantasy context)! I want to give mini game balls to all the contributors that are on my end-of-season roster: QB's Jake Plummer, Jake Delhomme and Brian Griese RB's Jamal Lewis, Priest Holmes, Brian Westbrook and Travis Minor RC's Rod Smith, Jimmy Smith, Isaac Bruce, Eddie Kennison, Santana Moss, Jerry Rice and Antwaan Randle El PK's Sebastian Janikowski and John Carney and a HUGE to... DU New England Patriots HOWEVER, ALL THAT SAID, the MVP of the '04 GBRFL CHAMPION "The Two Jakes" is, without doubt, a guy without whose unexpectedly stepping it up BIG-TIME when finally given the opportunity I would NOT have won this championship,... RB Nick Goings Two big game balls for you, brother, for those two big balls you played with week in and week out down the stretch!!!

Ya know... The more I think about Nick Goings's season this year, the more I feel such a close connection to the guy. For you guys who hang around here, have come to know me and pay attention to my soap opera situations, about which I am very open, you probably remember my '03-'04 grad school application woes. ... Well, the way Nick Goings finally got his chance and shined. And, the thing was his success was very workmanlike not flashy (in both senses if you follow). It seems to me that Nick and I shared something very fundamental in common this past summer and fall. And, by way of fantasy football, that was able to "come together" (in every sense). ... Bull your neck and press on, brother. I got to get an e-mail to this guy.
