Quote Quote Modify Modify

1. San Francisco: Aaron Rogers, QB, Cal: San Francisco has to grab an elite playcaller.

2. Miami: Cedric Benson, RB, Texas: This area could be addressed in free agency (James, Alexander).

3. Cleveland: Derrick Johnson, LB, Texas: The Browns need a playmaker, and Johnson fits the bill.

4. Chicago: Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan: With Terrell leaving, the Bears will need someone to step in and start. Edwards has what it takes to do just that.

5. Tampa Bay: Cadillac Williams, RB, Auburn: Chucky would love to see Cadillac in Tampa.

6. Tennessee:  Alex Barron, OT, Fla St.: With both tackles leaving or just getting cut do to cap issues, the Titans look for a replacement.

7. Oakland: Mike Williams, WR, USC: Insurance if Porter bails.

8. Arizona: Antrell Rolle, CB, Miami: Denny Green will be doing cartwheels if Rolle were to fall to him here.

9. Washington: Erasmus James, DE, Wisconsin: Other areas are needed, but James helps the pass rush out.

10. Detroit: Thomas Davis, S, Georgia: Secondary help is in dire need in Mo-Town...

11. Dallas: Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn: ...as well as in Big D.

12. San Diego (from NY Giants): Channing Crowder, LB, Florida: Wow, what a linebacking corps the Bolts will have!

13. Houston: Jamall Brown, OT, Oklahoma: Carr needs some protection, and Brown is a massive tackle.

14: Carolina: Heath Miller, TE, Virginia: This pick will help free up the wide receivers.

15: Kansas City: David Pollack, DE, Georgia: Dismal D needs a boost in the pass rush.

16. New Orleans: Odell Thurman, LB, Georgia: Another team in need of a playmaker (I love the name too!)

17. Cincinnati: Dan Cody, DE, Oklahoma: Will team with Justin Smith to form a nice duo at defensive end.

18. Minnesota: Justin Miller, CB, Clemson: It seems the Vikings are always looking for some help at corner.

19. St. Louis:  Travis Johnson, DT, Florida St.: A need pcik, for sure.

20. Dallas (from Buffalo):  Antaaj Hawthorne, DT, Wisconsin: The Dallas defense slipped considerably from 2003 to 2004, so this is also a need pick.

21. Jacksonville: Shaun Cody, DT, USC: Help on the line is a must for Del Rio and company.

22. Baltimore: Mark Clayton, WR, Oklahoma: This WR corps needs a boost.

23. Seattle: Wesley Britt, OT, Alabama: Another team looking to solidify thir O-line.

24. Green Bay: Alex Smith, QB, Utah: Favre is retiring, so the rumors have it.

25. Denver: Alex Smith, TE, Stanford: How badly did they miss Shannon Sharpe last season?

26. NY Jets: Marlin Jackson, CB, Michigan: Great cover corner here fits the Jets needs nicely.

27. Atlanta: Barrett Ruud, LB, Nebraska: Monster tackler.

28. San Diego: Brandon Browner, CB, Oregon St.: This secondary needs help.

29. Indianapolis: Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn: Edge is looking to move on, so this may be a need pick.

30. Pittsburgh: Troy Williamson, WR, S. Carolina: Also looking to maybe replace Plaxico Burress here.

31. Philadelphia: Darryl Blackstock, LB, Virginia: A quick linebacker is just what coach Reid ordered.

32. New England:  Adam Jones, CB, West Virginia: Troy Brown says, thank you.

Good job Barnaby.  I have not really even begun to research the draft beyond the top 10.

I do have a couple questions.  Is Aaron Rogers the clear number one in the draft now that Leinhart is not coming out?  Or would it be feasible that San Fran could trade down and still get their QB?

Also, I see you have Ronnie Brown dropping.  I have seen many people having him ahead of Cadillac.   Is Cadillac pulling ahead?

Wow... nice work.  We're pretty far off on agreement though.  This is an interesting draft because there is no sure-fire top pick.  I actually have Antrell Rolle as my #1 overall pick to the Niners.  I'll post mine this weekend.  (It will also be available on our Gridiron Draft Guide Website sometime next week.)

Nope... we posted at the same time and I already mentioned that.  This would be a nice year for the Niners to trade out of that spot, but there might not be any takers.

I have Ronnie Brown as the best overall back, although I too think the Dolphins take Benson at #2.  Cadillac might have impressed Gruden enough at Senior Bowl practices for him to grab him #5.

I agree with your thoughts here. I think the Dolphins like Benson, and Gruden, from what I read, really likes Cadillac, which makes Brown slip, IMHO....
