Those of you who frequented these parts a year ago will remember that BarnabyWilde and I posted a lot of information leading up to the NFL Draft. We had player profiles, mock drafts, discussions, and more. Well, things are changing. We won't be doing that this year. Fear not. The information will still be available. This year we're going to set up a separate website with all that information and more. The framework of the website is set up and we're gathering content right now. As soon as we have enough information loaded, we'll announce the URL and hope everyone will stop by and check things out.

| Absolutely. I'd appreciate it if you could wait until the end of this week. I need to update those lists. I also would like to feature your page on our links page (which also needs to be updated - err, developed from scratch).

Well, Jeff (Jim too) with your fine effort here with this, you have forced my hand (a year earlier than expected/we discussed). "The Gridiron Draft Guide" now has a nice, PHAT link here on "the Gridiron". Given the quality of your product, the sooner the better, I thought. And, no, Jake, it did not come at the expense of your link. Since it's a seasonal type thing, it has been (temporarily) put in place of "The REAL Feed" link. Congratulations and keep up the great work, my fellow Gridironers!

He has been getting major props from every where(starting with Mort from ESPN). Do you think he will get into the first round or go early in the second. |
| I like him a lot, but I don't think any team will use a 1st round pick on a player without a position. He's not ready to step in and start at WR or TE or H-back in the NFL because he has no real experience at any of those positions. I see him going mid to late second round. Quote:| Philly- Do you really think Chicago will take a RB over a WR? |
| It's hard to tell right now. I know their O-coordinator is really looking for a power back for the offense. I think Chicago will really try to trade down with a team that is interested in getting either Braylon Edwards or Mike Williams early. I think we'll see a lot of trading of picks in the first round this year. Quote:| And with Houston releasing their Linebacking corp, don't you think they have to go LB now? |
| They're at a bad spot for LBs at #13. If Derrick Johnson somehow falls that far (which I doubt) then they'll snatch him up. I believe that Shawne Merriman could even be gone by then (will be reflected in my upcoming mock update). I think they'll address the position, but not until the 2nd or 3rd round. There is some decent depth at the position this year. Quote:| ANd finally, being an Eagle fan, if they stay put in the 1st round, do you think they will go best player available or go after a need.(WR?) |
| If they stay put (which is unlikely given their arsenal of picks), I see them going for an offensive lineman. They generally draft for a couple years down the road. Don't forget that when they pick at #31 in round one, they'll be up again at #35 (Miami AJ Feeley trade) real quick. Quote:| Thanks again for all your time and effort in keeping us up to date. |
| Keep visiting the site. There will be a LOT of updates and profiles (including Matt Jones) added the week before the draft. (I have meetings with the NFLPA this coming week, so I won't have much time to get a whole lot of stuff up on the site.) Thanks for the kind words. We enjoy doing this.
