Do you think S.F. and Oak trade spots or just an oversight on the pick placement?

I can't imagine that the Bengals would throw a first day pick anywhere on offense (except, maybe, tight end) when their defense is still in need of improvement.

An oversight on my part.  I forgot to change my master list when the coin was flipped.  Thanks for catching it.  I don't know that the selections would change in my mind, so I'll leave it.

You caught that.  Unfortunately I was thinking "skill positions" on offense when I typed the message regarding Rudi Johnson.  My bad for not typing what I actually meant.  Center is a position of need for the Bengals and Mangold is the best in a LONG time.

Thanks man.  They're actually very difficult to do.  I tried to do one before the Combine and I kept coming up empty.  This one actually felt pretty good as far as BPA and Team Needs were concerned.

And feel free to nail me any time you sense some hypocrisy.

Too funny Philly, after you helped convince me that Laurence Maroney might be a better player than D'Angelo Williams, you go and hike Williams up to #5.

Jay Cutler going to my Jets ?    I can't say I'd be terribly disappointed with that.

Here's my mock draft:

http://www.junkyardjake.com/NFLDraft/index.htm

We should keep track of these first post-combine mock drafts and see if between you, me and Barnaby, we actually get any of the picks right.

If I get two out of thirty-two, I think I'd be happy with that.

Well, they do call him the President... I guess I was thinking Texans when I typed that.  He's obviously from USC.

I have to stop posting these because they are filled with errors.

I'll admit that I'm a bit of a reactionary when it comes to player rankings.  I'll forgive past impressions and go with the "what have you done for me lately" angle.  So DeAngelo really impressed at the Sr. Bowl and Combine and Maroney hasn't done anything yet in the off-season.

Cutler is my favorite QB of this draft.  I don't know how the Pennington re-signing will affect this pick.  There are also still plenty of trade rumors and free agency things going on.  If Kitna ends up with the Jets, I'm sure it will change their QB plans.

I'd prefer not to be held to my early mocks.  If we're going to judge them, let's wait until our last version before the draft.  Too many things change in the days leading up to the draft.  I think my final mock draft for 2005 is still posted here: http://home.comcast.net/~thegridiron
