The old Stegger is goin' to battle once again for "the Gridiron" in JYJ's web-site owners league. Had a solid performance last year, finishing in the top two or three teams in both points and standings and winning my division. Kudos, again, though, to the league and points champ, Eric Logan of FantasyFootballTimes.com. Anyway, this thread is to act as the discussion thread for Year Two. Here is a link to last year's thread just to give yous a feel for the wide range of discussion this thread is for. http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=56;a ction=display;num=1119025155. Root,... root, root for the... ... ... Here's the link for the league: http://football24.myfantasyleague.com/2006/home/13471.

I really didn't want McGahee at that spot, he was the next available guy on my list. McGahee has some serious questions this year for sure, one of which is his awful offensive line. However, he is apparently in great shape, and should be pretty good, maybe breaking into the top10, but more likely at least above average.

| I didn't even take note of who drafted McGahee. I certainly would've taken SJax ahead of him, and probably the Caddy too. I like McGahee, but his offensive line is terrible in a really bad way. His QB situation doesn't inspire much confidence in me either. Opposing teams will be stacking the box early and often and even the best RBs need a little help from their friends -- and I don't see Willis getting that help.

I don't disagree with any of that, like I said, he wasn't my preferred choice at #9. Maybe he will get traded to the Steelers. Oh, but as far as SJax or Caddy, yes, they are rated higher in terms of ADP, and would have been more logical choices, but I hate the fact that Martz is the offensive coordinator in Detroit, plus, he is a bit injury prone. In terms of Caddy, I like McGahee (as a player, certainly not his situation), just a tad better than him, and Caddy didn't get goalline carries last season. Correction: Martz in Detroit is a good thing, I meant to say Linehan is somewhat similiar to Martz (but will be more run-oriented), and I didn't like the fact that the Rams were talking about a trade for Chris Brown.

No biggie, dude... to "the Gridiron". By all means, kick back and hang out for a bit whenever you get the chance... ... Regarding my selection of Double D in the second round, I lost sleep toiling over that pick. It was a nightmare. According to my charts, it was a close call between Davis and Double J. That said, if Davis didn't have this lingering knee ailment, for which MRI's have come up negative (which is positive, for those of you slower-witted of us ... ), I wouldn't have given it a second thought. He is in my Top 10 while Jones just isn't. Regarding how things are developing overall, it's still WAY early, and with all due respect to FFX Smit, who LOVES to pat himself on the back ("uncorroboratively"), the guy from FootballGuys.com is representin' WELL, I MUST admit! For me, he's the only one whose squad REALLY stands out at this point.

Well, JYJ, you made the right pick... It was kind of a close call for me between Dunn and Dillon. As for Gates, he wasn't even on my radar, yet. I don't want to show too many of my cards at this point, but, suffice it to say that, yes, I have my reservations about him this year. I don't have him ranked #1.

| Mind you, I say this seeing that the "commissioner", who is JYJ, has been logging in and out for over an hour now while I've done my due diligence to poke my head in so it shows that I am poking around. Furthermore, about an hour ago, we had a BUNCH of dudes (whose picks are also coming up) hanging out there. And, mind you, the official shut-down time on the clock is 10:00 p.m. (EST). ... Just throwin' this out there... You lead by example... This draft has been VERY sluggish... for a group of "experts". Dude's should be going down their lists like lightning.

| Yeah, I noticed that there is not alot of discussion, I think, as opposed to last year, when we did the draft in late June, everybody running a website is scrambling around to keep everything as current as possible (as you well know, this shit is very time-consuming). I think maybe next year, late June/early July is the way to go. Smitty's a great guy, but very independent, I'm sure you've had enough experience with that personality type (i.e. I remember your offer to the helmet guy). on Aug 2nd, 2006, 10:01pm, StegRock wrote: Jake, what are you doin', man? | I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that. I suppose it is decent promotion, but I've done them the past 2 years mostly to provide the draft summaries and test my scoring programs.
