my team...

this is my team - almost exactly in 5 different leagues - this one i bought (auction league) - in the others, i suppose my rankings were high enough to assure they fell to me...anyway, i believe in these guys and despite rankings to the contrary, i think they'll be successful...what do you guys think???...(standard scoring/yardage)...
qb:   j. delhomme / k. warner
(i think the panthers may be sb bound - despite jake' s occaisional trend toward meltdown...and i need say nothing of kurt's inability to play an entire season)...
rb:   t. barber / r. bush / d. mcallister / j. addai / l. maroney
(serviceable - and if for no other reason keeper potential on more than one front - high risk, high reward...and i named my dog after deuce for cryin' out loud)...
wr:   l. fitzgerald / k. johnson /  tj houshmandzadeh...
(fitz, scary that arz has alot of targets now...key could explode b/c no matter what you HAVE to cover steve, and ditto for tj w cj...)
te:   c. cooley - (again, scary b/c of the arsenal - but tds are worth 60 yds)...
k:   a. vinetari / j. kasay (no one better than vinetari / and kasay will get his chances)
d/st:   carolina...(there's a theme running here)
i know it's antithetical to ffb philosophy to pick who you like...but it's also part of the fun of being a fan...if the wheels don't come off anywhere along the way (injuries, criminal activity, etc...)...i can keep up w/ those teams / players i like w/o spending alot of time trying to "play"...which decreases my stress level and helps my marriage significantly...anyway, it'd be worth my time to read what you guys think of my team / philopsphy...thanks,
prm...

First of all   to The Gridiron!! Hang out and use the forum, you will be pleasantly surprised at how friendly and helpful folks are around here. There are many years of FF "knowhow" and experience amongst these boards. Post often and remember to give your feedback as well...we count on each other's participation to make this all work.

I like your team...not the superstar studded teams you see all over the place, but you have some pretty stable players. I like that you have all the young guns at RB..if this is a keeper league, you made out like a bandit there. I think you are above average at every position and ought to fair respectably.

Well, first off, to the site, prmno...  We actually have a guy whose member name is "prm"...  You're like the "anti-prm"... Anyway, enjoy the site!

As for your team,... I think your commentary is right... Your QB's could be HUGE,... two guys who I both have currently ranked in my Top 10 as per StegsList.com.  Your RB's after Barber are a roll of the dice (for this year).  Having BOTH Bush and McAllister is a nice plan, though.  Addai alone and Maroney alone may only be "eh" at best.  Your WR's are all about Fitz.  I think you'll be platooning Key and Housh, and that may make for some "" weeks... playing the proverbial "wrong one". The rest, the lesser positions, are solid.  You should have yourself a fun and interesting season with that team.

And, moreover, I agree with your sentiment about going with "your guys".  If it's six of one, half a dozen of the other, you might as well have guys on your team you can "feel good about" and "genuinely root for" as opposed to guys you don't and can't.  I for one would do anything in my power to avoid having Terrell Owens on my team.  I digress...  It's funny...  I've had cause quite frequently now lately to point to ancient articles of mine in my archives.  This is another one of those opportunities...  The following piece I wrote WAY BACK in the day. It is related to/captures what you are expressing here, prmno:

Enjoy... this oldie but a goodie!
