My Home League Team (advice?)

Just finished my draft.  This is an acution league with keepers.

Starters are as follows: 1QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team Def.  Roster is at least one more than required starter (2QB, 3RB, 3WR, 2TE, 2K, 2Def) plus 3 wildcards (any position)

There are only 10 teams so you need your share of studs to win.

Scoring is: 3 for passing TD, 6 for receiving, rushing, special teams, defensive TD, 1 for every 25 yards passing, 1 for every 10 yards rushing, 1 for every 10 yards receiving, 1 per reception, 2 per sack, 2 per int, 2 per fumble recovery, 5 points of your defense gives up less than 100 yards rushing, 5 points if it gives up less than 200 yards passing.

Here is my team (and my question for the masters here at the Gridirion follows)

QBs - Mcnabb, V. Young
RBs - S. Jackson, M. Jones-Drew, J. Lewis, J. Norwood
WRs - A. Boldin, M. Colston, J. Cotchery, K. Curtis, V. Jackson
TEs - V. Davis, O. Daniels
Ks - J. Scobee, N. Folk
Def - Denver, Washington

The following were not drafted so I can cut someone and pick them up prior to the first game.

QBs - T. Jackson, B. Leftwich
RBs - D. Foster, V. Morency, C. Brown
Wrs - I. Bruce, B. Marshall, B. Jones, D. Mason, J. Horn, A. Battle, T. Williamson, and all the rookie WRs except Johnson, Jarrett, and Ginn
Ks - Reed, Lindell, Feely, Rayner, Janikowski
Def - Buffalo, Arizona, St. Louis, Atlanta, Indy, Tampa Bay, KC, Tenn, NO, Detroit, Houston, Cleveland

Do you guys think that Foster, Morency or Brown are better than Lewis?

Should I drop a WR and pick up one of the RBs?

Is there a better kicker than Folk out there?

Is there a better DEF than Washington for Denvers bye week?

Any other suggestions for drop/adds?

Thnaks for the help guys!

I'd stick with Lewis. All of the other guys seem to be headed to a RBBC at best.

I'd stick with what you have, although you may want to keep an eye on Joe Horn... I think he could surprise this year.

Has Folk definitely locked up the position? I'd think about Jeff Reed as a replacement for Folk.

Yes. Washington plays GB that week, and GB still has a decent offense. I'd consider going with Tampa or St. Louis that week. They both have decent match-ups. St. Louis could have a sneaky good defense this year too.

I agree with Jeff's assessment, except I like Rayner as a kicker over Folk or Reed.

My only thought is that I'd drop whomever you consider to be the least of your receivers to grab DeShaun Foster.  Other than that, I basically agree with what Philly said.  I'd definitely get a more name-brand kicker than that Folk guy.

Not much to add here other than this:

I'd keep an eye on Anthony Gonzales in INDY.   I think he makes a terrific sleeper in PPR leagues.   The 2 big studs will prolly still get a lot of the scoring, but I think GonzDeux can be every bit as good as Stokely was a couple years ago by mid season.

Good luck!

Thanks guys.  Great advice as usual.  I like the St Louis DEF idea I will pick them up instead of Washington.

I was also thinking of picking up Foster, but I can not figure out which WR to drop.  I know I do not need 5 WR but I want a decent WR3 and I was priced out of all the top WRs.

My thought with Folk was the Cowboys will have a decent offense and he should put up middle of the road kicker points.  If he doesnt make the Cowboys I can always pick up someone else.  With only 10 teams in the league there are only 20 kickers selected so I am hoping someone comes out of nowhere.

I do not now much aboour Rayner.  Would he be considered a top 20 kicker?  I must admit I do not really follow the kickers.

I would drop Kurtis and pick up Foster.
