Could this be another MAC (or whatever conference it is) NFL QB success story...??? |
| Not as likely as some others. He's got a very accurate arm, but no arm strength and questionable decision-making. Had he come back for his senior year and gained some more experience, he'd have a better shot. One of the best rules of drafting a QB is stay away from the early-entry guys---they've failed more often than not in recent years.

| After I posted this, I realized I misspoke. Davis doesn't have a weak arm ... he's renowned for his arm strength. It's his decision-making and football IQ that still need work.

| After talking with someone who actually does scouting work for the Detroit Lions, I get the impression that if they want a QB, it would more likely be Mark Sanchez. However, there's some desire in the organization to grab a cornerstone OT with the #1 pick.

| I think Sanchez is a 1-year wonder. Thus, it would make perfect sense the Lions want him. With that being said, I think an OL would be a solid pick and SAFER pick.

From "The REAL Feed"... NFL Draft from the macroperspective: Draft order is up KeepMedia: Football (09.03.2009 18:10) The NFL released the round-by-round order of this year's NFL Draft, which runs April 25-26. As it stands, the Raiders have single picks in six of the seven rounds. And, from the "micro-est" of microperspectives: Despite no sure things in this draft, Stafford still Lions' best bet KeepMedia: Football (09.03.2009 18:10) There are no guarantees in the NFL Draft. As Lions fans theorize as to which prospect will most likely turn to gold for a franchise due to hit the draft jackpot, general manager Martin Mayhew and head coach Jim Schwartz are exhausting resources to make
