I am posting this here as well so as to ensure that it doesn't get missed! PLEASE read it if you did not at the other thread! Thank you! on Mar 10th, 2003, 4:42pm, StegRock wrote: Good idea to check your baggage in and not carry it on when boarding "StegRock's Air Gridiron"! The MAIN reason I created this place was because I did not like the "bad vibrations" I felt elsewhere. I did not like the idea of members having to or being advised to have thick skin. I highly suggest all new members, if the time can be made, to learn a bit about the man, the legend (in his own mind)... the eliminated and forgotten ScreamingWeasel... and he wasn't even that bad. This ALL leads me to one final point... enough with the fuckin' FFToday shit in everybody's posts all of a sudden. If I (perhaps not you guys) even utter the words "Fantasyfootballer.com" or "the Gridiron", no less post a link, over there, I get run out of town by the nutty lynch mob. Truth be known, not that there are many, but there are more links to the "monster" FFToday and its forums at Fantasyfootballer.com than there are there to here, if any at all remain in existence at this point. Not that any of that matters! I just wanted a "few good, like-minded men" to start off with, primarily those who I had developed a rapport with and wanted to let know what I was up to. That's all! That's not to say that you cannot invite other friends of yours from there over to here, BUT we can now put the "rivalry" to rest. Bottom line: members removing the term "FFToday" from their threads' topics would be showing me the support I would "like" and would ultimately get in my good graces, for whatever it's worth. Bouve, I also want to say in your post... good and a good ! Thanks... and please follow through! Your Friend in Fantasy Football, Steve |

Tell you what Bouve, I'll give you a chance. I, along with several others here, are building something special when it comes to fantasy football. If you want to be a part of it, fine by me. Just know the guidelines and follow them. Things are a bit different here... I'll wipe the slate clean because Steg asked me to, and since he is a friend, I will honor his request. Welcome to the Gridiron! on Mar 10th, 2003, 5:20pm, Bouve wrote: Hey Steg I didn't say anything but this guy is already on me. If you want me to leave then tell me and I will go on my way. But I have already said I aint here to start anything and I would expect the same from the vets of this board who have beef with me from that other site. |

| Friend, you are reading me wrong. Focus is in the wrong place. You're cool! 8) Got no problems with ya' hangin'. I gave you kudos in that message for goodness sake. I just wanted to make sure that you read it, particularly since I think it is relevant to both of the threads in question. That's all! All of that having been said, don't worry about your welcome here; instead, how 'bout my reasonable request in the message above? I see you did not act on that! Thanks for your anticipated cooperation!

| Hey, thanks for thinking of that. I did not consider that. Eh, I'll let 'em have that one. Ultimately, Bouve, I don't really care. It was just getting a little much there for a bit.

| Honest; cross my heart... I don't really care all too much about any of it. It is just that there is a history there. You may know. If not, all the better! Anyway, in short, I have "donated" a number of articles to that (revenue-generating) ".com" site, read NOT ".org", as well as having been a fairly diligent poster contributing extensive posts both in number and length. In my original agreement with Mike, he said that all he could offer me in return for my articles was ad space. So, when I finally opened up "shop" here about 18 months later, read, yes, this is my site, and, no, I don't make a dime and don't know when I will be able to, I made about 25 or so posts there over a three-week period during very off-peak hours, thinking that 50 or so of the like over a month would be fair enough compensation for the theretofore seven articles I had given him, just to give me a start and clue in those who knew and liked me over there as to what I was up to. Well, Mike didn't care, but his "minions" did and they tore me to shreds, overall, and he did nothing to stop them. Bottom line, his 18,000+-member forum doesn't need (any more) plugs at my fledgling 109-member one. That having been said, if someone who has "contributed," read, all I mean is made a healthy portion of intelligent posts, here starts up his own site or currently has a site that is still small-time, I would be MORE THAN supportive of his efforts and would gladly plug said site here on "the Gridiron". Surely, not the treatment I received!

| Thats complete BS. Not sure when it happened, maybe it was when I retired for a bit but either way that wasn't fair of him. You should have gotten what you agreed upon. Goes to show you that there aren't that many nice people around anymore especially on the internet. So as of right now is all that this site has is the message board cause you could easily expand it to include articles and such with some of the knowledgable posters you have already got and yourself included.
