Get a load of this one!  John Booty, brother of the Browns third-string QB Josh Booty, is/was expected to announce that he is forgoing his senior year of HIGH SCHOOL to attend USC this fall.  Here is the piece out of the newest addition to "the Gridiron Newsstand", the Pasadena Star-News:

Can we rush these kids any more?

Sorry in advance, but I don't quite see the huge deal. People graduate as juniors all the time, by taking courses in the summer of doubling up by taking night classes. My son plans on doing that, as well. So really, that's what Booty is doing. Essentially, he's just graduating as a junior, with the same requirements as a graduating senior and going to college. It's not like he's jumping from high school to pro. NO! ... only in basketball is that right Haha, but I guess no one can deny Garnett's superiority.. GO KG! <-- sorry that was offtopic

I hear ya', Cirrinone!  I would not say that I feel as vituperative about this as I feel about "youth FF".  It is just that what ever happened to "normalcy," so to speak:  extracurricular activities, intramurals, senior superlatives, prom night, graduation tears and hugs, homecoming, Friday and Saturday nights in general, etc., etc.  I dated a chick back in college who was all about graduating in three years (I did in five).  I got her "professional" rationale, but...  It is just that everybody seems in such a rush to get these "great years of life" over with and once you are out of them, you realize you can never go back.  Talking about leaving school (years) early... it's all so businesslike.  How 'bout kids be kids as long as they can because it is all going to be over so fast, anyway?  And, it will all, all the goofin' around and goofin' off, all the everything, be missed, eventually, providing you weren't gettin' beaten up in the locker room every day!
