You guys have probably already heard the news about Mark Fields of the Carolina Panthers on ESPN or something.  He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease.  From "the Gridiron Newsstand", here are the local reports:

The good thing is that Hodgkins is very beatable.  Sounds like he has a good attitude about it, and that is key.

I know Mario Lemieux came back from it to play.  Wasn't there a NY Giant who also came back from Hodgkins in the late 80s or early 90s?  I remember that was the first time I had heard of the disease.

Now it would be nice if the papers could get his nickname straight... the first article at www.charlotte.com says his teammates call him "Fee" while the www.buzzfans.com article says that he is known as "Fi-Fi".  For his sake, I hope the first one is correct.
