I know Jim (BarnabyWilde) is probably VERY busy with his HalloweenFest! He has told me that he puts on SOME Halloween show. He is supposed to send me pictures. I'm looking forward to seeing his set-up. Anyway, a little Halloween story... Back in high school I owned Halloween. I won the Halloween costume contest EVERY year except senior year when I teamed up with a friend of mine who was a junior on a costume and there was (allegedly) a rule against giving the prize to us as we were in different graduating classes. Freshman year I was Pee Wee Herman as in Pee Wee's Big Adventure (a classic, by the way), red bow tie, geeky suit, the corny laugh, the whole nine yards. It was a classic hard to follow up! Sophomore year I was Freddie Krueger. As I was actually (really, senior-superlatively) the class clown, this was off the beaten track for me. I won on sheer effort and friends helping me. The costume was incredible, the sweater, the hat. One of my (not so close, actually) friends made this wild aluminum-clad Freddie K. glove with plastic picnic knives painted silver. And, of course, I hammed it up and played the role. Junior year I did the Church Lady, one of Dana Carvey's trademark characters from Saturday Night Live. I looked hysterical with my hairy legs in these stockings, the old-fashioned dress, the wig, and I had the "superior dance" and act down to a tee. Senior year, the year my buddy and I got ripped off, we did Bartles & Jaymes, as in the ever-popular wine cooler of the mid-/late-80's. We set up shop before school at the main entrance. We looked just like them. He had the Frank Bartles rap down and I just sat there doing silly little shit like Ed Jaymes always did. It was VERY funny! The costumes were simple, but very clever. The way I look at it, though, is that this was the fourth game of a best of five series that I already had swept 3 to 0. This was just exhibition time... and a costume and idea for a costume just as memorable as the rest.

| Yes and no. I have soooo much stuff, I only use some of it on the house. This year, I was in charge of the kid's school Halloween haunted house at their carnival. That was fun!

The house itself was pretty cool...however, with no $ for advertising, it was a pretty small turnout. I think overall, I lost close to 6 grand on it this year...NICE, HUH? on Oct 31st, 2007, 2:38pm, StegRock wrote:HAPPY HALLOWEEN '07, everybody!!! (Jim, good luck with your haunted house today! | Of course,... two birds in the bush... does have a "certain" appeal. Okay, I'm being naughty. ... What can I say? It's the influence of all these Halloween exotic, erotic balls here in San Fran. ... ... But, really,... HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Reminiscing,... visiting this old thread, which I have not done in a while, indeed not since my little girl was,... well,... a little girl... Looking at some of the smiley,... emoticon,... now, emoji fun we had back in the day on "the Gridiron"... In fact, the post that I started this thread with was my first Halloween following the close of the Korea years for me. Lots of chapters have had the pages turned on them at this point... ... Anyway,... I still got a trick-or-treater, thankfully. She ain't too grown up on papa... yet.
