Not a surprise at all.  Apparently Jim had informed his players in a "private" meeting that he would not return after this season.  
 
My prediction :
 
Dave Wannstedt will be the next to go!

Fassel is still coaching the Giants, despite being fired, because he already has another job lined up.
 
After the season, and some "obligatory" minority interviews, the Arizona Cardinals will name Jim Fassel as their head coach.
