How did YOU find your way to "the Gridiron"?

The bottom-line question is in the subject line.  I am just kind of curious about how different dudes found "the Gridiron"/"FantasyFootballer.com":  word-of-mouth, my fantasy articles at other sites, by way of another fantasy football site, either their message-board forum or a link, JunkyardJake.com specifically, a search engine, etc., etc., and if the latter cases, which ones?  And, which page did you arrive at here first,... "the Gridiron" main index page, the "Articles on Fantasy Football" page, "the Gridiron Newsstand" and "The REAL Feed" page, the GBRFL, GBRFL2, or CBFL pages, "the Gridiron Store"...?

I remember being at bored at work one day, and I typed "fantasy football" into a search engine. I came across the GBRFL page, and stumbled across the Gridiron!

I actually "discovered" the league of sites you had a few months before that. I even had it saved. But yes, you are correct in the fact I did not join until you made the invite...

Junkyard Jake made me look. Think I hit the newsstand first, then stumbled onto the message board.

First I would like to say that more than "Dudes" visit your site. I am a huge football fan and like to keep up to date on football current events. It was my favorite cousin "BarnabyWilde" that lead me to this site. I think he got tired of me bashing his Giants and sent me here maybe hoping to keep me busy. Love ya Jim! I hope your Giants and my Bucs have a better year!!  I have never posted - but do enjoy reading the posts and the emails notifying me of trades made me appear football smart to my husband and with the guys at work. Hope you don't mind sharing the forum with a woman from Tampa. Thanks Guys!!

Back in 1996 I started doing a search of websites by typing in www.a.com, www.b.com, etc... After six long years of typing seemingly random strings of letters and numbers and seeing where it would take me, I innocently typed www.fantasyfootballer.com (completely by random) and wound up here.

Actually, I liked some of the articles over at fftoday.com and read them fairly regularly (but found it rather fruitless to post in the forums over there) and after reading some mindless dribble from an author named Steve Stegeman, I sent him an email, he sent me an invite, and the rest is history.

Welcome to the Gridiron Sharon.  I think you are now the second woman to grace our presence.  It will help to keep our testosterone levels from running amok over here.

Hope you enjoy it here.  Any relative of Jim's is, well... an improvement over Jim himself.

It was a really hot summer. Beads of sweat spiraled down my glistening cheeks like weighted drops of rain.
Ok Ok,..........so I had AC. Anyhow, I think if my memory serves me correctly , I punched in fantasy football and along w/ that : message boards; cuz, I was looking   for a new place to post, meet new peeps, as I originally found FFmastermind though, they were a bit close minded (in general terms though there were some really great guys on their!) and didn't appreciate my creativity so, I found the gridiron and was immediately welcomed into the pack by everyone and I was thinking at that time, this is the place I have been searching for - because I also found other sites w/ message boards but this one, had the best bunch of FF fans as a whole; hands down you guys have everyone else beat. What a fantastic and very friendly bunch of people.

I first came to the Gridiron after someone had posted a link to it on the other forum . It did not take me long to figure out that this was the place to be for good great information from friendly people. This board doesn't have the nonsense that other boards have. I also thought that all the smileys were great.

I was attending my civic duty of attending Jury Duty, and amongst the group of the few hundred or so sat a man whom I stuck up a conversation about Football and Fantasy Football and how he was involved in a keeper league for numerous years.  I told him I would be interested if any slots opened up.  A few e-mails passed between us and then one August day, that man, Steve Stegeman said he was expanding to a 2nd league and I was happy to join.  Hence my site name The Juror.

FYI-Steve Stegeman did not go to trial and beat the charges for male prostitution.  Just wanted to clear your name there Steg!!
