the Gridiron - Team Smilies

On "the Gridiron", I like the message icon for team-specific threads to be uniform.  It kind of indexes the threads for our users, making the site more easily navigable.  If you look around, you will see the smilies we've assigned to different teams.  Some make more sense than others.  We do the best we can with what we have/what is out there.  Heck, I like being "creative" with it anyway.

So, in any case, this thread is a place where, if you want to make a team-specific thread and can't (easily) find the smiley we use, you can ask.

Anyway, , I did make this thread now in particular with a question in mind...  Does ANYBODY know why I chose to use this smiley, , for the Ravens?  There is a VERY creative reason behind it (even though it's admittedly not ideal).  Hint:  stare at it very closely AND change your perspective from how you "normally" perceive/look at it (according to its label)!!!

Hey Steg, I think I get it, because Bill Billick will be on Prozac and Nitrous Oxide  to help cope with watching his anemic offense again this season ?

The 's are way closer than the 's, though.  Catholic U. is not far from RFK Stadium at all.

By the way, your explanation of the Ravens' smiley is not correct.  If you are serious about this, STARE at it! ...

No sir, of course I wasn't serious, knowing you it is some metaphysical Edgar Allen Poe reference or has something to do some indian legend about how large  birds are seen with ominous grins as they stalk their prey.

Either way, I yield to your metaphorical wisdom, and will patiently wait until someone smarter than me can figure it out.

JYJ, this time, this one has nothing to do with the metaphysical; it actually deals with the physical.  It's an optical illusion.  STARE at "cheesy" there, , but think "Raven"!!!

 - It looks like the Crow makeup (from the movie - those who haven't seen it, think of the Joker from Batman, kinda).

Bottom line, stop looking at the mouth as if it were a mouth; look at it as though it were a beak and the "ornithology" (word I learned from Jeff) of this smiley will "shine through".
