Getting the "Good Word" on "the Gridiron" out!

CALLING ALL GRIDIRONERS!!!

Guys,

Given the recent unfortunate developments on "the Gridiron" as per the "Recent Downtime" thread, http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1089747574, my hands are a bit tied, though not "officially", when it comes to getting the word out to and generating interest among our members about "events" on "the Gridiron" and in the NFL.  Even though it is COMPLETELY within my rights to send out e-mails to members of my site(s), I now know the landscape and what still can happen and am understandably VERY reluctant to send anything out that even remotely promotes my site(s), at least until some time has passed.  I mean I, for example, would have in the past sent a "heads up" e-mail/newsletter out to our members regarding Eddie George,... but not anymore!

Whenever I sent out these kinds of e-mails to members, I would get a little flood of traffic AND usually a few members out of it.  Now, for the time being at least, that "marketing" tactic is out the window, again, not because of the law specifically, but because of how "can-spam enforcement" is manifesting as per the aforementioned thread.

So, as my hands are kind of tied for now (i.e. until some time has passed and I feel comfortable again) with regards to letting people know about the good things we are up to here, now, getting the word out about "the Gridiron" by way of word-of-mouth around the office or wherever, telling internet acquaintances in "appropriate forums" on the net particularly by way of pitching the "other features" on the site besides the forum, etc., etc., is key to the continued growth of the site!  This is especially the case given a couple "events" we got coming up on "the Gridiron", about which I would have surely sent out an e-mail to all of our members, namely what I discuss on the "FantasyFootballer.com EXPANDING" thread, http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=56;a ction=display;num=1086987905, and the "Is it time for us to 'Huddle Up'?" thread, http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=56;a ction=display;num=1090210939.  The former regards the addition to the site of a feature which will be useful to fantasy footballers the world over; the latter, as many of you know, is a "group participation-driven" activity.

I hope you guys can help me get the word out about them and everything going on here on "the Gridiron" and at FantasyFootballer.com at this time during which I am somewhat prevented from doing so, or at least made to feel that way.  Thank you all for your anticipated consideration and assistance.  I am...

...Sincerely,
Steve Stegeman

My sending the "Ricky Williams" e-mail does not cancel out the long-term "reality" of the "situation" and the plea I make to you all above.  Ultimately, though I probably need not be all too worried, I am like totally and right now (which is an utter shame).
